Because I follow science, evidence and logic, I have the same attitude to gender ideologues as I do to creationists, climate change deniers, anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, Brexiteers, fascists, scientologists, flat-earthers, 9/11 truthers and moon landing deniers.

@SVPhillimore It's funny, I never see them argue that calling a man an "adult human male" reduces them to a penis and testicles. Presumably because they don't view males as intrinsically lesser. But then we can't expect consistency from those happy to call women "uterus havers/bleeders".

@Gaynotqueer1 It's very simple: being asexual means having little or no sexual attraction or interest in sex, except for the asexuals who still have a partner and enjoy sex, because they're nothing if not confusingly vague/making shit up as they go along. If you shrug at them, that's genocide.

As recently as 2013, it was satire about the lunatic fringe of the Left. Today, it's being taught to tens of millions of schoolchildren as the only truth from the earliest age. "I accept you're a man. I accept you have a penis." This satirical gloss on the transgender dogmas of 2013 would literally be grounds for cancellation two years later. By 2018, you could be silenced on any of the major social media platforms for it.

@THECherdFlemsky @LoudBonnet Believing men and women are defined by regressive, conservative notions of gender is bigoted trash. Gender has as much relevance to the 21st Century as astrology or crystals. The only people who win by putting gender back into preeminence is men. It’s patriarchy 2.0.

It's such an odd claim that a policy that directly protects the integrity of female sports doesn't 'protect women' because 'other things haven't been done'. This is a fairly simple and quick test that addresses one problem in women's sport that has arisen in past decade.
rory 🇪🇸@seventhswann

@charlesarthur This is not about protecting women. If it was they would do something about the abuse countless women face on the wta tour. Aside from the fact that there are no trans women on the wta tour, and even if there were trans women on hormones lose the “genetic advantage”,

Perhaps I am just a muddled headed silly woman but in my studies of history I never noticed men with penii and testicles claiming entry to single sex female spaces, or teenage girls seeking the right to cut their tits off and claim manhood, before 2015? Does a decade count as history? I guess it might but it isn’t 5,000 years. I am sure Ryan can with his customary charm and courtesy, explain where I am going wrong.

No, @jk_rowling did not post an "upskirt" picture, a crime defined as secretly taking a picture without consent for sexual gratification, or to cause humiliation, alarm, or distress. Fred was on stage at a filmed/photographed event flashing his inner thighs to the camera. These men trivialise the humiliation women face by comparing an exhibitionist fetishist with women who are secretly recorded. Tristan is not some rando, either, he is co-chair of End Conversion Therapy & has the ear of @scotgov.

@SVPhillimore @JMchangama Pretty amazing how all you censorious GC folks seem to think there is a unique meaning of the term "rights" that is accepted by all. Calling someone "anti-rights" is a subjective opinion so it can never be a "lie".
Abhishek Saha@ObhishekSaha

For something to be a lie, it must first pertain to a factual statement, and there must be a degree of common agreement on the meaning of relevant words. For a GC to call a trans woman a man is not a lie because they are using the word "woman" to track biological sex. But the trans woman herself, or a gender identitarian may define the word "woman" differently, to track self identified gender rather than sex, and it's not a "lie" when they describe the trans woman as a woman. People have wildly different opinions on what rights or human rights should look like. When the word "rights" is used in political discourse by a person, it typically does not refer to the exact rights protected in the law of that country, but rather refers to rights as the person thinks ought to be. Given this, calling someone "anti-rights" is fundamentally an opinion, not a statement of fact, because it depends on your opinion of how rights should be properly understood. There is a conceptualisation of rights (which I don't share but Amnesty might) according to which it is a rights violation to omit trans women from a women's space. Under this, of course Beira's place and FWS are anti-rights. Under a different, libertarian conceptualisation of rights (which I do share), it is a rights violation to legally prevent private organisations from having single-gender spaces organised on the basis of gender rather than sex. Under this conceptualisation, FWS (and the Equality Act) may be fairly described as anti-rights. And so on. So calling someone "anti-rights" is almost never a lie; it is usually a reflection of your view on what rights are. On the other hand, as far as I am concerned, seeking to use the law to stop someone from calling you "anti-rights" is definitely anti-rights, because it directly attacks free speech rights as I see them.

Jacob Mchangama@JMchangama·
It never ceases to amaze me how shallow the commitment to free speech is. For years, groups and individuals have - rightly - warned that debate arounds LGBT+ issues were being shut down through inflated hate speech laws and punitive cancel culture. Yet now, these same groups use the language of offense and harm to threaten Amnesty with legal action due to a shoddy and ideological report that called certain groups "anti-rights". I can't count how many times I have been accused of being anti-rights due to my opposition to hate speech laws which some view as protecting the rights of minorities. Groups like @TheFIREorg and @ACLU have been likened to "Neo-confederates" running interference for "white supremacists" for the same reason. I think these critics are deeply misguided, but it would never in a million years occur to me to threaten such critics with legal action. Not only do I think that you should be free to label me "anti-rights" (or worse if you think such labels are warranted), tactically, the idea of using libel laws to shut down opponents in a contested ideological debate is so short sighted and will almost inevitably come back to bite these organizations the next time they use hyperbole to advance their cause. Thank God for the First Amendment and the American culture of free speech. I love Europe, but the Old World is so utterly lost when it comes to free speech.
