The judge who granted bail to that rapist who again raped a 4 year old girl after coming out of jail and then murdered her should also be charged for encouraging rape and murder. These people can't just walk scott free after sending such monsters back in the society

@runthusiast Why were you in the fast lane with dead-traffic & clearance on the left hand side? You should have zoomed out as soon as you saw the runaway truck approaching. I routinely drive on 110+ Kmph zones & change lanes as soon as lane ahead shows dead traffic. Be more aware.

A truck driver on his phone rear-ended our car (A Hyundai Tucson) on a NH44. My 4-year-old was in the car. We walked away. Barely! This isn’t just our story. This is every Indian highway, every single day. And nobody in power seems to care enough to fix it. Here’s what’s killing people on our national highways and what we demand changes: [LLMs have been used to for better phrasing] 📵 CELLPHONE DISTRACTION Phone use while driving = driving drunk. Same reaction time, same lane drift, same inability to brake. The fine is a joke — paid, forgotten, back on the phone. This needs criminal-level deterrence, not a challan. 🚛 TRUCKS IN THE FAST LANE Every highway trip, a truck crawling in the rightmost lane, forcing everyone to overtake dangerously from the left. Keeping left is LAW under the Motor Vehicles Act. Not a suggestion. Where is the enforcement? 🔀 LANE CHANGES WITHOUT INDICATORS No signal. No mirror check. Just a sudden swerve at speed. This causes side-impact crashes and pile-ups that nobody sees coming. Fine and suspend. No exceptions. ⛔ WRONG-SIDE DRIVING Tractors. Autos. Trucks. Even cars — driving on the wrong side of a 4-lane highway because turning around is “too far.” This is not a traffic violation. This is attempted murder. Head-on collisions at highway speeds are almost always fatal. 🚶 JAYWALKING ON HIGHWAYS Pedestrians crossing 6-lane highways on foot because there are no underpasses, no footbridges, no lighting. My anger isn’t at them. It’s at a system that collects toll at every plaza and still can’t build basic pedestrian infrastructure. Very common on ORR in Hyderabad. 🛠️ WORKERS ON LIVE LANES WITH ZERO PROTECTION Road repair / landscaping with no cones, no barriers, no advance warning signs, no reflective gear. Workers crouching in a live lane with vehicles flying past at 100 kmph. This is institutional recklessness with human lives. 🚚 UNFIT TRUCKS ON HIGHWAYS Overloaded. Bald tyres. Broken tail lights. No reflective tape. Invisible at night until it’s too late. Vehicle fitness certification is a rubber stamp. Bribes are cheaper than compliance. We need automated testing with zero human interface. 🌑 ZERO ENFORCEMENT AFTER DARK Every highway driver knows the truth - after dark, the rules don’t exist. No patrol. No cameras. No consequences. Highway patrol must be 24x7. Non-negotiable. ━━━━━━━━━━ What can save you: ✅ 5-star safety rated car: crumple zones held, cabin stayed intact ✅ Toddler car seat: IsoFix is better. ✅ Seatbelts - every passenger including rear seats ✅ A good 2-channel dashcam — rear footage is now our key evidence. Front-only would have been of little help. Before buying a car, check its safety ratings. Use a car seat. Belt up. Get a 2-channel dashcam. Thanks to @HyundaiIndia @Hyundai_Global for making a car which saved us. ━━━━━━━━━━ A special thank you to @AnantapurPolice for filing the FIR promptly and treating this with the seriousness it deserved. This is what accountability looks like. Also tagging @arun_bathula who has been doing some great work in #hyderabad to bring awareness and educate drivers in the city to thank him for his efforts in making the city roads safer. @nitin_gadkari @ncbn @AndhraPradeshCM @revanth_anumula @TelanganaCMO @NHAI_Official @MORTHIndia @APTrafficPolice @APPOLICE100 @TelanganaCOPs enough talk. Fix this. #RoadSafety #IndianHighways #DistractedDriving #PutThePhoneDown #HighwaySafety

An elderly woman had her pain medicine stolen by her grandson. She only called 911 because after days of suffering she finally had to call for an ambulance. When she made the spontaneous utterance that her grandson stole her prescription I got his name, went to his job, searched his car based on probable cause the medicine was inside (based on other information I received), recovered 6 of 30 pills that were in the bottle, placed him under arrest, & released the 6 pills back to his grandmother until she can get with her doctor to hopefully get a new prescription on Monday. I have ZERO TOLERANCE for victimizing the elderly, handicapped, women or kids.🤨👮‍♂️🚔

#NicobarIsland project. Those who don't want big companies like #Adani etc to invest, bid, must step up and bid straight away. I thought about it and realized don't have money or experience. So am opting out. But others who are troubled must step up. Don't say that you were not advised.

Air India just received its 100th aircraft since Tata takeover. In 3 years, Tata has taken an airline with a fleet average age of 14 years and injected 100 new planes into it. That is one new aircraft every 11 days. The order book is staggering. 470 aircraft from Airbus. 220 from Boeing. Total: 690 planes on order — the largest fleet order in aviation history. Not by an American airline. Not by Emirates. By an Indian airline that was bankrupt 4 years ago. Air India's domestic market share has climbed from 8 percent to 15 percent. International routes from 10 Indian cities that had no direct long-haul service now have Air India nonstops. Revenue per seat-kilometre improved 34 percent. On-time performance crossed 85 percent from 60 percent. The Tata playbook is becoming a case study. Take a destroyed PSU brand. Inject capital. Fix operations. Order at massive scale to get aircraft pricing leverage. Then use the brand's international route rights — which took decades to accumulate — as the moat. The skeptics said Tata overpaid at 18,000 crore. Air India is now booking 15,000 crore in revenue per quarter. The entire acquisition cost is recovered in 5 quarters of revenue.

While tourists dumped garbage on a charging point stand in Manali, here is what Sambalpur Municipality in Odisha did to tackle littering. They identified offenders through CCTV and made them clean up the mess themselves. Accountability like this makes people think twice before littering again.

Look at this Norwegian church. It has been standing through Norwegian rain for over 840 years. The trees were prepared for nearly two decades before anyone cut them down. Workers walked into old-growth pine forests and stripped the chosen trees of their tops and their branches. The trunks stayed standing for fifteen to twenty years. The roots kept pulling resin upward. The pitch bled out of every old branch socket and saturated the heartwood from the inside. By the time the trunks were felled in winter, the heartwood was no longer wood. It was malmfuru. Ore-pine. Functionally pressure-treated lumber, except the pressure was applied by the tree itself, for free, across two decades before construction started. That is why iron was rejected. Iron rusts. Iron expands and contracts on a different cycle than the wood around it. After 100 winters iron splits the fiber and the joint dies. Wooden pegs swell with moisture in the same direction as the staves. The joints get tighter over time. Tongue-and-groove walls. Ground sills on a stone foundation. Four corner posts carrying load down through stone, never up through soil. Then the tar. Pine roots and stumps stacked under clay, lit on fire, burned for two days under controlled airflow. The wood decomposes into pitch. The pitch gets reapplied to the church every 10 to 15 years. Including this decade. Norway built around 2,000 stave churches between 1150 and 1350. 28 survive. Borgund is the best preserved because its corner staves rest on stone, not soil. The ground never won. Modern lumber arrives at the construction site finished. Borgund's builders made the lumber finish itself.

1956. Japan was still rebuilding from the war. Tokyo had electricity. Osaka didn't. Rolling blackouts. People were dying in hospitals. The president of Kansai Electric, a guy named Shiro Otagaki, made a call. Build a dam in Kurobe Gorge. The most dangerous place in the country. Engineers had tried before the war and quit. He spent five times the company's capital on it. If it failed, the company was done. Then the tunnel started. About a mile in, they hit broken rock with water blasting out at 660 liters a second. The fault zone. It was 80 meters wide. It took them seven months to get through. Seven months. 80 meters. Workers stood in freezing water up to their waist. Rocks fell. Men drowned. Men got crushed. Some just went into the water and never came out. The saying on site was "There are no injuries in Kurobe." That wasn't a safety slogan. It meant if you fell, you died. There was no in-between. Seven years. Ten million workers cycled through. 171 of them didn't go home. When the dam went online in 1963, the men on site cried. Now here's the thing nobody talks about. Japan has around 3,000 dams. Right now, somewhere in this country, a guy is sitting in a control room staring at a water gauge. A typhoon is coming. He has to decide when to open the gates. Open too soon, the rivers below flood. Open too late, the dam breaks. That's his call. Alone. A few centimeters on a meter. Get it wrong and a town is gone. You're in the shower. Making coffee. Filling the kids' water bottles. You don't think about any of this. Why would you. But that water came through a dam someone died building, and it's still flowing because someone is awake right now watching a number tick up. We just turn the tap.
