If you've never worked with influencers, this is a good example of how insane and out of touch some of them are. For context: this person averages 800 views on TikTok and 15k (often less) on Instagram, and is asking $4k to post a video. You'd be very lucky to make $200 back with those numbers.

The internet is now experiencing unprecedented levels of pollution. People, us founders included, are spamming TikTok and Instagram with absurd amounts slop content (also because the algorithms seems to favor quantity over quality). Reddit and X are close to prove the dead internet theory right, with the bot replies and posts surpassing real, useful content in a lot of communities. I wonder if we will ever see some sort of major shift, if people will ever get exhausted and we'll see a decline in usage of all these platforms, from real users at least.

What's something you've built just to use yourself, meaning without having to care about anything public-facing? I made a sort of net worth tracker where I can input my holdings in different currencies (fiat and crypto) and items I collect like art and cards, and it pulls price data in almost real time and shows a total amount. I also replaced a 99$/month news api I was using by building a custom system running on a $5/mo droplet. I really enjoy making stuff for myself without having to worry about the UI or security.
