There’s nothing virtuous about being a pushover in the face of evil. As Christians, we eschew revenge. But we aren’t silent in response to evil.
But abusive Orthobro types try to take advantage of clergy’s avoidance of scandal or controversy in order to take over and terrorize parishes and communities.
They need to be told no, for once in their lives. There has to be a line.

Orthobroism is a cult, akin to ancient heretical movements like Montanism. It should be treated accordingly, not with excuses or a slap on the wrist.
Orthobros have their own particular conception of Church authority, dogma, Church praxis, etc. And it is almost always inimical to actual Orthodox life and belief.
We need to recognize and understand that this is a semi-organized movement, not a group of individuals who happen to share certain sentiments in common.
In light of that, we need to be forceful and open about our rejection of Orthobroism in the parish and everywhere.
It is not Orthodoxy, period. And we reject it with the same unwavering commitment with which we reject any of the heresies of antiquity.

@orthodoxluigi As a protestant with no orthodox churches anywhere close, I grew up assuming they were just a different type of Catholic in essence.
I was not prepared for the amount of based I've discovered.
