The legendary @dylan (@voyagertech_ CEO, astronaut, Max Space partner, friend) stopped by the @getmaxspace new 25,000 sq ft expandable lunar habitat manufacturing facility on Florida’s Space Coast today.

There are a lot of Japanese on my timeline who are interested in Texas! If you meet a Texan, tell them "the stars at night, are big and bright!" And clap four times! It's like a magic spell for Texans

For the first time in >50 years, humans are back in deep space. When the Artemis II astronauts sleep on their way to the Moon, they will see something few have seen since Apollo: Flashes of light in total darkness. Why? Galactic cosmic rays. Cherenkov radiation (that blue glow in nuclear reactors). And astronaut eyes as a particle detector. A thread 🧵

@mrtirman Okay, whew, glad it’s not just me who thought that was an incredibly narrow view.

@MollySOShea @fubini @ssankar @anduriltech @hermeuscorp It’s kind of a trick answer because you can know how procurement works mechanically but not know how it *really* works in a particular agency or program office. I’ve met smart people who have spent their whole lives mastering a single agency who are still wrong sometimes.

Ross @fubini says “There are only ~40 people in the entire US that are able to sell products to the government, period.” "The most rarefied skill is the ability to do that effectively.. you're: - @ssankar, Palantir - Matt Steckman, @anduriltech - Zach Shore, @hermeuscorp - Scott Sanders, @ForterraDrive You very quickly get to the end of the list."

This just in—more images of Earth from Artemis II! 🤩 This view from @astro_reid shows the divide between night and day, also known as the terminator, as seen from the Orion capsule.

That's us! 🌍 The Artemis II crew captured beautiful, high-resolution images of our home planet during their journey to the Moon. As @Astro_Christina put it: "You guys look great."

We see our home planet as a whole, lit up in spectacular blues and browns. A green aurora even lights up the atmosphere. That's us, together, watching as our astronauts make their journey to the Moon.

@McCainJack I think it makes a little more sense when you realize Weyland chose zealots over professionals, but that’s about it. Romulus is a much better addition to the franchise.

The translunar injection burn not only sets the Artemis II astronauts on the path to the Moon — it also puts the crew in a free return trajectory, which will allow them to use Moon's gravity to return to Earth.
Victor Glover@AstroVicGlover

Perspective: when we poll GO for translunar injection (TLI) and the engine(s) on the Orion Integrity service module propel us toward the moon, our actual destination is Earth. The ultimate destination of every human space flight.

Nominal translunar injection burn complete. The Artemis II crew is officially on the way to the Moon. America is back in the business of sending astronauts to the Moon. This time, farther than ever before.

@jjroach3 @HeathMayo I would love for nothing more than to get to principled debates about how to do the most good for the most people.

Exactly. I’m a libertarian conservative, but I despise Trump because he’s NOT a conservative NOR competent. Can we get back to competence vs. conspiracy theories and click bait from those cashing in on vulnerable idiots? Where are the sensible right-of-center and left-of-center? Let’s get back to solving problems vs “gotcha” politics.
Heath Mayo@HeathMayo

If as a country we cannot put partisan blinders aside to simply acknowledge that these are incompetent people out of their depth, that their incompetence has led to global turmoil and destabilized the economy without strategic direction or purpose, and throw them out of office in 2026 and 2028 in favor of people who at least understand what they’re doing, we will continue to backslide into mediocrity. I don’t care if you’re a D or an R—demand better as an American. Let’s not let this happen again.
