We offer cash management services for companies, with our Trevian Cash service, treviancash.com We open a brokerage account for a company at Fidelity, and then help companies either buy a custom portfolio of short-dated Treasuries, or hold cash in a money market fund

@SMB_Attorney Fidelity money market advice is spot on. Yield on $1m minimum one is close to 4% and cash in a brokerage account avoids tail risk of FDIC limits. If you want fixed rate, buy secondary market Treasuries online at Fidelity. We do that for companies now - treviancash.com

Interest rates have risen but my bank’s “high-yield savings” is still at 1.0% Where should I move my money?

@iamjakestream yes, but if you could frictionlessly move your deposits into and out of other high yield accouts or treasuries or MMF etc there are ways to get better yield...but it's hard to do today...

There is a $600B opportunity in deposits. There are ~$20 trillion in deposits at banks that pay effectively 0% interest, despite skyrocketing interest rates. One deposits become more mobile (RTP may help), it will start sucking a huge profit center out of banking.

Never try to get a mortgage as an entrepreneur. The brain damage is incredible, and nobody in the entire value chain knows what the hell to make of you. Feels like there is SO much opportunity for disruption here, especially as more and more people become self-employed 🤦

@millerannette Add in a cash balance pension plan and you can take the 58K to much more - often 120-200K combined depending on income and age. 58K maxed out 401k plans can be found in some private equity and VC firms - works best with high cash flow and relatively few employees

TIL $58K is the actual limit on annual 401(k) contributions, but there's a key caveat. That's the amount employees + their employers can contribute COMBINED. This means if an employer offers a very generous match, top-earning Americans can save ~3X the solo cap of $21K.

QSBS is an important law that helps small businesses create new jobs. The BBB bill that the House passed has essentially eliminated it. We’ve reached out to the U.S. Senate to try and preserve it. Can you help?

@P_Swish @accrossd @haridigresses I'm not willing to give up two-factor auth on any brokerages and Plaid doesn't play nice with two factor auth at Fidelity, which is my core use case, so I think none of these automatic solutions will work for me.

@ChrisHarveyEsq @dunkhippo33 Interesting! With a multi-member LLC you do need to file a company tax return each year (typically needs a CPA and you each get K-1s), so perhaps the easier long-term move is take the Series 65? Doesn’t require a firm to sponsor you, has no continuing ed, and is multiple choice

@dunkhippo33 The law is based on a 'reasonable belief' standard. Reasonable minds can differ on what's "reasonable," but I wouldn't risk my license to misrepresent something untrue. But if you someone is willing to buy 1% of your LLC for $10k+, you're accredited. roamresearch.com/#/app/Funds/pa…

Can a lawyer help me answer this? Previously we established you can be an accredited investor via your startup. (Eg you own 20% of your co valued at $5m) For non-founders, why can’t they just spin up a side LLC that is valued at $1m by a friend investor? Cc @ChrisHarveyEsq
Elizabeth Yin 💛@dunkhippo33

Ask Twitter: accreditation laws require an indiv investor to have $1m in net worth (excl a house). If you own 20%+ of a startup that has raised at $5m post money val in an equity round, do you qualify? (I assume yes). What if it’s on a SAFE? Cc @minal_hasan @ChrisHarveyEsq

@davidu Fidelity brokerage accounts also offer free wires. They do call to confirm if over 1mm, otherwise it’s almost always all digital.

Congrats to @GoHumanFirst on their $12M Series A round to bring healthcare home! 5x YoY revenue, used by 22 of top 25 pharma companies, and lots of new additions to the team over the past year.
Andy Coravos@AndreaCoravos

Our seed investors believed in the at-home vision, and doubled down this past year. @AmbarBh led our round and we're lucky to be working w @BrandonReeves08, @deenashakir, @emelton, @EnkeBashllari, @BoostVC, @svangel, @villageglobal, and 30+ angels to bring healthcare home.
