@LKHDMartian @estherzelda0514 Allegedly, men who say "not political" in their profiles are actually right-wing but don't want to say it because most young women will reject them for it.

I didn't believe my friends that 90% of men on dating apps from age 25 to 45 are trash, so I went through her queue with her over coffee yesterday morning. Nearly every single profile had at least one red flag that was impossible to overlook: blatantly lying about age or height, "not political," unemployed, "figuring out my dating goals," alcoholic, "no fatties," weird sexist admissions, etc. Mind you, this wasn't even getting to their looks or picture quality, and these red flags are what these men are comfortable revealing on their public profiles, so they must be so much worse in person.

Would you rather your daughter become: a) A housewife/mom who lives in a trailer park with her blue collar husband and 4+ children OR b) A successful medical doctor who lives in a multi-million dollar home, but never marries or has children

I saw the original rug selling post and thought teaching his kid to be entrepreneurial was a good thing. Then I saw the $300 surcharge for a $1500 loan and consulting fees and then I saw that the dude is fairly wealthy and his son ends up with a busted ass rusted out 4Runner. Diabolical.

@iky_fwjett this is just really poor communication on both sides. you aren't any better than this guy tbh. you said you "hadn't thought about it _yet_" which makes a normal person think you will respond back with an idea. should have asked him for a couple ideas if you couldn't think of any

@dyingscribe Why are DDs so much bigger in our shared cultural imagination than reality? They regularly get much bigger than that but for whatever reason DD has this place of pride as THE big boobs.

You don't got to be a real estate expert to know things decay and deteriorate so you know it must have cost the owner something to maintain that property for two decades. Between inflation and maintenance costs alone the owner is selling at a loss in real terms. But the thing is, it gets worse! Its a residential property so most likely it was mortgaged so when you factor in the interest paid to bank over 23 years.. the owner will be selling this property at a paper loss and even bigger loss in real terms. how the fuck are you "Professor of Computational Social Science at Cambridge University Judge Business School" and be this mentally disabled.. This is why I think democracy needs to be fundamentally restructured.. wtf do you mean this moron has the same say as me.

Gas prices are the very last thing you can lie about to Americans, and you'll never convince them the price of gas doesn't matter. It's in our face every day. Americans use 375 million gallons of gasoline every day. Gas prices have been roughly a dollar a gallon higher for a month. So Americans have had to shell out roughly $10 billion more for gasoline because of Trump's decision to go to war. Trump is dreaming if he thinks people haven't noticed.

@redl3tters I always text a woman the morning of our date to confirm. I don't want to get stood up any more than she does

I used to have an NYC friend who liked to pick my brain about her dating life. Our conversations would go like this: "Till what time of the day [of a date] should I give a guy until I cancel on him if he doesn't confirm?" This question confused me. "Wait, what do you mean? Do you already have plans set?" "Yeah we do but he has to confirm." "I don't know... if you doubt that you're still on for the date, why don't you text him and ask?" "No, that's not my job." "Okay... so why not just show up at the time and place you agreed to then?" "No, he has to confirm or I'll cancel." "So you're saying after you've agreed on a time and place you want him to text you the day of to let you know he's still coming?" "Yes, by like noon or I'll cancel." "Did you tell him this? Does he know he has a confirmation deadline to meet or you'll back out?" "No, I'm not his mother. He should know." "I... don't think guys know this. If I had already agreed on a time and place to meet someone, I'd just text them on my way out the door to coordinate." "Well, guys are supposed to confirm. Asking for a guy to be a gentleman is the bare minimum. I can't babysit them all day." By this point, my brain would be in a state of paralysis so I'd just shrug and say 'whatever'. So in practice, she'd regularly make plans with a guy and then he'd end up texting her an hour or so before they were supposed to meet and she'd write back with a snotty "oh I'm sorry, you didn't confirm so I'm not coming. Good luck to you." Eventually, I learned she had a short list of Tik Tok influencers who were filling her head with all these dating rules every day. Total nonsense. Completely anti-social and neurotic. Playing every single insecurity she had and convincing her to self-sabotage at every turn. But she was completely beholden to them. They owned her mind and directed her moves. It is difficult to overstate how unhealthy Tik Tok is for young women. It's like a diet of McDonald's every day for the brian. If I could commission one study it would be: -Life outcomes for women who never used Tik Tok or Instagram vs. -Life outcomes for those who were active uses in their formative years I bet the differences would be striking.

We're not going to travel beyond the solar system, according to Leonard Susskind. And neither are aliens, coming to visit us. We may not be alone, but we are stuck here for, essentially forever. 1. The nearest star is 4.24 light years away. The fastest spacecraft ever built would require 6,600 years to get there. 2. Surely we can just build faster spacecraft. The problem is to get to anywhere close to the speed of light, we need exponentially more energy. 3. Chemical rockets will just not work. Even fusion rockets won't work. Even 10% of the speed of light is not achievable. The Tsiolkovsky Rocket Equation prevents it. 4. Interstellar dust becomes hand grenades when traveling anywhere close to the speed of light. Ships break. 5. Space radiation will kill us over the time need to travel interstellar distances. Impossible to protect without massive shields, which require massive energy to accelerate and de-accelerate.

For the uninitiated, a forced march is something like 25 miles a day. Commanders know if they do two many consecutive days, the run the risk of injury, sickness and death. And that’s setting aside that your able guys are all shot. This guy did four of those in one day. It’s basically a sustained trot for 24 hours
Roger@rdd147

The rescue of the second pilot gets so much more interesting when you realize he walked 110 miles in a single day to get to his location from crash sight and other pilot.
