The Libs have put Canada far behind in a global race to ramp up energy production and capture a foothold in Asian markets. Today's announcement puts Canada further behind the pack in so many ways. Watch to the end...you'll want to see what the host does.

Did you know that recent changes to recycling rules are quietly making your food more expensive? Here’s why. It’s called EPR — Extended Producer Responsibility. Under EPR programs, companies are now paying much more to recycle packaging and manage waste. Those added costs don’t just disappear. They move through the supply chain and eventually show up at the checkout counter. Few people are talking about it, but recycling policy is becoming another permanent cost layer in our food system.

The most damning line in this entire complaint is Al-Saadi's own recorded words — admitting his network personally directed attacks on Canadian soil. We didn't find this out from our government. We didn't find this out from Canadian security services. We found it out from another country. This is a national security failure. And it should shake every Canadian. thebureau.news/p/irgc-proxy-c…

I have been pressing @csiscanada to acknowledge to Canadians that the nexus between Iranian intelligence and Mexican cartels is a public safety issue, but they obstinately refuse to answer, what I know to be true. It is indeed a failure, more so for the PM and Public Safety.

Important: Under C-22, the Commissioner of Intelligence would have to sign off on Ministerial Orders to instal back door surveillance equipment. So I asked the kind Justice Noël, what percent of government orders he approves on average? 85% ! 🤯 We need judicial oversight.

Why are Signal, Apple, VPNs and the US Congress raising alarm bells about Canada’s lawful access plans? My post on the privacy and cybersecurity risks to Canadians with Bill C-22’s two-headed monster of metadata retention and new surveillance capabilities. michaelgeist.ca/2026/05/the-la…

Despite growing concern with Bill C-22, government’s response has been to launch a misleading social media campaign and insist that the experts and companies are wrong. Time to stop the gaslighting, extend hearings, and address privacy and security risks. x.com/mgeist/status/…

Signal is now warning that it could exit Canada over Bill C-22. The government has called Signal, Apple, Meta, US Congress, and cybersecurity experts all wrong. But this isn't a bluff. Canadians will lose access to secure services if the bill passes as is. michaelgeist.ca/2026/05/bill-c…

The government announced plans to cover 1/3 of newsroom labour costs for Bell, Rogers, and Corus. Doubling the Labour Journalism Tax Credit scope is worth tens of millions of dollars and would insert government tax support into nearly all news operations. michaelgeist.ca/2026/04/the-go…

The lack of accountability is a dream come true for the 31 Carney cabinet ministers and secretaries of state (out of 38) who served under PM Trudeau, supported policies that produced the worst economic/financial record of any Liberal government in history and absolutely don't want to be held accountable. For the 8M + living with food insecurity, over 2 million who want work but can't find a job or our children who will pay interest every day for the rest of their lives on the record government debt - it's not cute or funny.

So we have gone from the Liberals first raising security concerns and saying "no federal funding" for made-in-China BC Ferries to the Liberals fully funding made-in-China BC Ferries and now saying they are unable to satisfy the very same security concerns they first raised.
