Construction companies spend $17B a year on project estimation, yet bidding on a new job is still largely manual, requiring estimators to measure every detail from satellite imagery, blueprints, and site visits. From our PearX W26 cohort, trutec.ai uses computer vision to turn aerial imagery into bid-ready cost estimates in seconds, helping contractors bid on more projects without growing headcount. Their platform automates one of the biggest bottlenecks in construction workflows: translating raw property data into accurate, scalable estimates. The traction speaks for itself, TruTec launched in January 2026 and is already serving dozens of customers. We’re excited to partner with Ross Stitts and Ryan Brown as they modernize construction bidding. 🚀

Each year, medical device and pharma companies lose $80B+ in revenue to insurance denials, even after FDA approval, while patients are left to navigate insurance coverage on their own. The team building paxoshealth.com knows this problem firsthand. While at Stanford GSB, CEO Haley King met Alex Lacey, who once overturned a $40K health insurance denial with the help of an anonymous Reddit user. Driven by Alex’s personal experience, they decided to build a company to help patients navigate health insurance appeals. Shortly after they met another Stanford student, Malcolm Asher working on the same problem. As it turns out, Malcolm was the anonymous Reddit user who helped Alex with his appeal. The three joined forces, and Paxos Health was born. Paxos Health uses AI to help patient access teams navigate complex payer rules, clinical guidelines, and appeals workflows—turning a slow, manual process into a structured, repeatable system. By analyzing coverage policies and clinical evidence, they help teams build stronger cases, streamline appeals, and secure more approvals so patients can access care faster. Congrats to Haley and team on taking the stage at our PearX W26 Demo Day. They're just getting started! 🚀

The future of computer vision is agentic. 1/ We built Nomadic around a gap we kept seeing in video understanding: VLMs generate chain-of-thought that's fluent and often correct in structure, but weakly grounded in what's actually in the video. This limitation shows up in cases like "rolling stops". Is the stop sign actually associated with the vehicle’s lane? Does the ego vehicle ever come to a full stop, or only decelerate?

Excited to share that @pearvc backed her new company, @trymoda. Moda is a beautiful product. It gives more people the ability to create design work that actually feels… crafted. In a world of increasing AI slop, craft stands out more than ever. Everyone I’ve sent Moda to has become a power user.
