I dunno, man. I plugged my PS2 in for the first time in 20 years on Friday and played Guitar Hero 3 with my kids and everything just worked. Didn't have to update a subscription for a song library on a server that doesn't exist anymore.

This is actually a question I get alot so I'll answer here. One of my devs is Korean and I went over this with him just recently, it's an interesting IR topic. So the two primary issues is a bit bigger than NORK itself. The meta issue is that NORK functions as a buffer state between the US and China. US currently has troops in South Korea, if you wargame it out, and China and Russia do nothing and reunify Korea, you now have US ground troops on the border directly to Russia and China. This would be intolerable to both, but particularly China having US ground troops so close to Beijing. So because NORK functions as a buffer state between the US and China, both sides are very hesitant to operate on either side. Kim Jong Un understands this and that's why he's able to squeeze and negotiate the Chinese over a barrel every time. They hate it, but he has them by the nuts because of this. This is the real hesitancy to dealing with NORK is you by default now engage in a multi front war because for them not to participate would leave a potential end state that they would find unbearable. So we manage the unfortunate situation. My explanation I teach to people is that the world is a prison with no prison guards. And that nukes are the equivalent of guns in the prison in my analogy. We ideally don't want anyone with nukes. So while he's bad to his own people, he's atleast a somewhat rational actor, he doesn't have eschatological beliefs like the Iranian IRGC. While he is a very bad actor it's much more manageable. The failure to go after NORK nuclear facilities back then has been a widespread failure of the security apparatus, it's one of the reasons they are more eager to deal with Iran the way we are right now. It is on the list of problems to solve. You never know with the run Trump is on, they could be next on the problem to solve list.
