One of my favorite little vignettes in dealing with what we now recognize as the Woke Right was in talking to an impertinent younger man (30-ish) at a conference in early 2021. I find it very reasonable to think that even a nonreligious person might be compelled to say a little prayer when visiting such a holy place, even if they're not converting to any particular religion. Our correspondent Steve Sweeney has been wounded by an Israeli strike in Lebanon. Both men are conscious in hospital, doctors are diagnosing extent of shrapnel damage. War journalists are not legitimate targets. We pray for them.

He hasn't claimed to get religion. As far as I know he's still an atheist. He simply analyzes the logic and structure of the different philosophies and, more often than not, ends up affirming the Christian world view, as far as it applies to actually structuring a society, as the correct way.

Can anyone please show me credible evidence that the tiny country of Israel, which is the size of New Jersey with a population of 10 million people (of which 25% are not even Jewish, mind you), somehow owns the government of the single greatest superpower the world has ever known. The SAVE America Act doesn’t “Save” America. And this isn’t about voter ID. This bill requires everyone to re-register to vote in person and your driver’s license, REAL ID, or military ID aren’t even good enough. Imagine all of our seniors who don’t have valid passports and haven’t seen their birth certificates in decades? What about them? How hard will it be for them to register? And how do they get a passport if they can’t find their birth certificates? And what about the cost? If this becomes law, it will disenfranchise many Americans.
