Let’s also not lose sight of why all this is happening in the first place. Polling indicates a net swing towards Democrats and away from Republicans of roughly 30 points in races country wide. Republicans will be absolutely slaughtered in the fall and their attempts to redistrict are driven by fear and hope of blunting this tidal wave of voter discontent. I wish we could connect in November to see how cocky you will be sounding then. I’m sure you’ll be absent though. 🤣🤣🤣.

AOC: What is extremely disturbing about what has happened in Virginia is this court overturned the will of three million Virginians. They can say what they want about the ballot initiative, but they explicitly chose to issue this ruling after the election happened. They had all the time in the world to issue an opinion or an injunction before allowing this election to happen. They did not overturn a map—they overturned an election. It is the power of the American people that should be the ultimate check on all three branches. The court’s ability to overturn an election that was clear in its result should be something that is called into question.

The budget was balanced by accepting a state funded bailout. Democrats should be applauding upstate NY.

I’m not smart enough about the NYC budget to really understand what portion of that $12 billion gap was real, accounting tricks, typical gamesmanship, posturing, etc.
But no notable cuts to city services & all the worst people getting mad about this feels like a bigtime win.
