Amazing how, since the appointment of former GB News editorial director John McAndrew as Director of Programmes for @BBCNews (in late 2022/early 2023), this has barely been mentioned, despite the @BBC’s relentless coverage and platforming of Reform UK. McAndrew oversees the quality, consistency, and editorial direction of BBC television and radio news programmes (including Breakfast, News at One/Six/Ten, Newsnight, Today, PM, Newsbeat, and Radio 5 Live). He sits on the BBC News Board. In a February 2026 interview in the US, her first major public appearance after resigning, former BBC News CEO Deborah Turness admitted that she personally overruled internal editorial policy to give Nigel Farage primetime exposure during the 2024 general election. She explicitly said this was done to improve the BBC’s relationship with Reform UK supporters. Critics argue this reveals senior executives steering coverage to chase audience approval rather than upholding independent journalistic judgment, raising fresh concerns about top-down interference in editorial decisions. Somewhat ironically, the BBC does not appear to have reported on Turness’s specific comments from her interview at Semafor’s *Restoring Trust in Media* Summit in Washington, D.C. #bbclaurak #bbcqt #PoliticsLive

FUN FACT: The former editorial director & director of news & programmes at GB "News", John McAndrew, will join Tory donor @BBC Chair Richard Sharp, & Tory DG Tim Davie, as director of @BBCNews programmes. 😱

Nigel Farage secretly trousered £5 million in cash, and he didn’t want you to know. Since the media have barely covered it, let's make it go viral 👇

So it turns out we weren’t gaslighting ourselves after all. Turns out John McAndrew is a senior BBC executive who was appointed Director of News Programmes in 2022. He previously worked at the marketing arm of Reform UK, GB News as an editorial director.

A retweet by Zack Polanski is now the main story across every single media outlet. Two days ago, it was revealed that Nigel Farage failed to disclose a £5 million gift from a crypto-billionaire. It gets nowhere near the media attention, for straightforward political reasons.

$TTMI I held this one through earnings. Have a 107.6 avg. so felt like I had some cushion. My backtest doesn't cut before earnings and results look good, but it can get really nasty sometimes. For people who trade breakouts - do you actually hold through earnings or cut before? @Peoplewish @RealSimpleAriel

All Reform does is lie, lie, and lie again. International students do not have access to student loans, despite paying far more than home students in tuition fees. They pay their own fees, pay visa fees, pay NHS surcharge, work restricted hours, and still get used as a political punching bag.

The last two weeks in Reform UK's world: ⇒ They fixed a competition for their friends to win. ⇒ Richard Tice was found to have avoided a SHED LOAD of tax. ⇒ Robert Jenrick illegally accepted £37,000 from a US Ponzi scheme. ⇒Farage has failed to declare £5,000,000. This is aside from myriad local election candidates being embroiled in scandals from gay porn, to being previously removed from a Zimbabwean government role over corruption [story tomorrow]. Where are our journalists and their wall-to-wall coverage of these bona fide scandals? PS. I wrote about Harborne chucking £millions at Farage, as far back as 2019, in September of last year. donmcgowan333.substack.com/p/farage-coins…

Far as I’m aware, the Greens are the only party who want to windfall tax these profits & use the money to bring our bills down. Thats why they’re the only party on the rise. Cos that is common bloody sense.

The Cato Institute is a libertarian think tank. It just published a 30-year study showing immigrants paid 14.5 trillion dollars more in taxes than they received in government benefits. Every single year. For thirty years. Without exception. The country was lied to. Here is what the study found.🧵
