@VDOOZER Please get disney to re-scan the 16mm film reels for scrubs season 1 so we can get it it much higher quality. Having a high quality season 1 will make it easier to get people to want to try scrubs for the first time. I'd be fine with maintaining 4:3 aspect ratio.

@BrendanEich @brave They can detect that but youtube wants to save money on bandwidth costs so they force AV1 on people. They even do this on android phones that have certain cpu cores which is even crazier.

@QuackyQuacky1 @brave It feels as if YouTube (web sites in general) should be able to detect lack of hw AV1 and pick hw accelerated VP9 for us :-/.

@BrendanEich @brave Feature request: option in settings to disable software decoding of AV1 codec. Youtube forces this on people by default but it uses quite a lot of cpu and battery if you don't have a hardware decoder. Currently I use the extension enhanced-h264ify.

@BrendanEich @brave running windows 11 on intel kaby lake i3-7100u laptop. Works fine and fairly fast with ssd. I disable AV1 using the extension so youtube uses VP9 hardware decoder instead. AMD and Intel took a long time to add AV1 decoders so there are a lot of users that can't hardware decode.

@QuackyQuacky1 @brave Just asking what you have, for a start. Hats off to you for keeping older laptops alive, we have older MBPs that last, but PC laptops average only a few years max for us at home.

@BrendanEich @brave I'm not sure what you mean. Intel and AMD processors only added AV1 hardware decoders to their laptop and desktop chips 2-4yrs ago, so lots of people have to software decode which heats up laptops and uses more power.
