We began filming this week for an upcoming report on Israel’s pager attacks in Lebanon last September. Yesterday, I sat down with children who were injured in these attacks. That’s Ali on the right and Hussein on the left. They were beautiful children. They still are. But no photo or video can capture the cruelty of what was done to them. The pain, the surgeries, the trauma. It’s unbearable. They are strong and resilient, unbelievably so. Their families too. But they shouldn’t have to be. While these families suffer, the American media praised this blatant act of terrorism as innovative, ingenious, and precise. Israelis joke about handing out more pagers as their leaders gift pager trophies to their favorite and most subservient American politicians. But it’s not a joke when a child’s face and hands are blown off. For those who believe this will deter resistance, all I’ve seen is greater determination to fight from those most harmed by empire. Grateful to work with a powerful team, check the last photo ❤️ And stay tuned to @BTnewsroom, more on this story soon.
