@bphillipsonMP We need to completely overhaul the education in this country. Trusts like Astrea who do what they like without any accountability to students, parents, teachers, governors, local authorities, ofsted or DofE, MPs etc etc. Cutting a broad curriculum, arts, computing and more.

Parents want good, local schools that can support children with SEND to achieve, where inclusion is the norm and support comes early. You’ve spoke, we’ve listened. Labour is creating tens of thousands of specialist SEND places and giving school staff the training they need.

@ian_cushing Having seen the quality of the booklets produced at one of the two, I wonder how they were selected.

DRAMA on #EduTwitter as edu-content provider Adam Boxer asks: Why do 4-year-olds call out in class more than teenagers? The whole tweet's a binfire. But the lead question's a helpful reminder that a certain area of education just doesn't get kids & doesn't realise others do. 🤦

@grahamchatterl2 Some of these cards, that reinforce a right to utilise basic facilities are, sometimes, needed by students who wouldn't need them if only they felt safe and able to ask for their rights when they needed them. However all children are treated in these schools as guilty first.

I'd love to engage in a discussion about this but no surprise I'm blocked by both But here you have the blame, followed by the misconception and what happens when we are unable to allow nuance and flexibility First of all the suggestion that it's adults telling children...

And blocked by Mr Tutt for having the temerity to engage politely. Not beating the charge of thin-skinned authoritarianism.
Charlie Goldsmith@CharlieGLusaka

@richardtutt And if I were Director of Secondary Education of a MAT where at least one school (@AstreaAcadSheff) puts students in isolation rooms if it deems them to have breached its rule that "fake tan should look natural" (oxymoron, much?), I'd take the plank out of my own eye first.

@CharlieGLusaka It’s reasonable to assume from this post that he believes collateral damage to largely SEND children is mitigated by school results. Or he doesn’t believe children..

@johncosgrove405 Her school is also in a place where there are multiple other options for students/parents. In catchment areas where there is only one option she would be under a very different scrutiny.

Ms Birbalsingh of Michaela Free School has weighed in to defend Mossbourne Victoria Park Academy. Her attitude has always been that high academic results trump all other considerations: precisely the safeguarding concern identified at Mossbourne. johncosgrove55.wordpress.com/2019/11/11/tru…

@johncosgrove405 Her post is so dangerous, has she learnt nothing about child abuse in institutions. Children will lie when they don't feel it is safe to tell the truth.

@SecretBusMgr If I were @bphillipsonMP I would be looking at every trust that TB supports the leadership of and every leadership team championing him over the last few years. And if I were @wesstreeting I'd be making sure it happens in line with prevention aims, it will impact NHS.

How many academy trusts have grown on this foundation over the past 10 years, where success was seen as having an outstanding ofsted and that was all that mattered at the time.
Peter Lacey 🇺🇦@ecarda1

@warwickmansell Clearly, that's how to achieve Ofsted outstanding. As their last report stated: "Leaders have high standards for behaviour in the school".

@hopkinsmmi @educationgovuk @bphillipsonMP The complete disregard TB and those that attack anyone with a different and often evidence supported view needs to be addressed with the seriousness of the responsibility they have for our children.

Hasn't this man and his work done enough damage in our education system? Why would you disband something if it was so great to then have the same mistake come in again.

@gerrydiamond71 9. = Reboots of the behaviour compliance required 100% of the time taking up precious curriculum time and demotivating/depressing students who don't need to be retold how to behave every six weeks.

I always say to staff & my presentations that the 3 most important things for schools to thrive are? 1.Relationships 2.Relationships 3.Relationships Successful schools thrive on relationships. Schools are determined by the quality of relationships. No mention of it here.😌🧠🌱
