The cloud build up to the north east of Mumbai only sustained till the catchment areas and did not come through to mumbai. Rain is expected to pick up in the night as all weather models suggest that. Light to moderate rains in last few hours, now there seems to be a break. Overnight there looks to be a slight change and the upper air formation has moved faster than expected and is now moving north-north west . Don’t expect heavy rains on Thursday now. Rather Friday morning we may see an increase , however the worst is over for #mumbai for now. this is not the last spell of heavy rains this season #mumbairains

As expected intermittent light rains have started over mumbai since Monday. The LPA/UAC now lies near Goa coast. Due to this LPA the trough across Konkan and Goa has been activated. Expect light rains till Saturday. Saturday 24th august to Tuesday 27th august expect usual moderate/heavy #mumbairains. All of Mumbai and MMR have similar trend. #mumbairain
