OTD in 1944: a US Navy C-47 [39073] with 23 aboard disappears on a flight between Torokina and Guadalcanal (Pacific Ocean). Last contact was after take-off, SAR was unable to find any remains of the aircraft. Bad weather (rain, limited visibility) were likely factors. More info below ⬇️ 🧵
