I remember when they first made April O'Neil black; I didn't post about it. At the time, it seemed silly to worry about cartoons when there were so many more important things happening. There have been several remakes of TMNT since then, including the recent Magic: The Gathering set, and she's been black in every single one. A reminder that these things only tend to go in one direction. I've since learned to never give an inch on anything, even if people call you unreasonable, racist, or make fun of you or whatever. Centrist Democrats in the 90s were the greatest form of government we have experienced. -Budget surpluses -Staunchly capitalist -Strong border -Merit-based legal immigration -Strong military -Sensible on social issues It’s a shame how progressives and socialists dragged the party to the left to the ruinous place they are now. And their extremism pushes the right to be more extreme too.

I’m not defending Cronkite, but much of the reason for the impact of the Tet Offensive was our own military’s fault. We had been told for a couple of years that the communists were on their last legs. Almost defeated and just dribbling out a few last gasps. It would soon be over. Basically MacNamara and Westmoreland had fed what we wanted to hear. Perhaps they believed it. Then in 1968 the whole South erupted in flames. We saw proof in living color that the Communists were not on their last legs and that they could launch a gigantic assault. Westmoreland gave a speech in Saigon on the US Embassy grounds, with dead Cong and Marines laying around. He tried again to say this was no big deal. We stared in disbelief as the head of our forces made it obvious he couldn’t recognized a massive offensive when it literally hit his own front yard. The shock wasn’t so much that “we were losing!” We knew we weren’t losing. But if after 5 years of American intervention the enemy could still field such an attack, then it was obvious that they had a LOT of fight left in them. So the question among those supporting the war, like my parents, was “How much longer?” “Won’t they ever give up?” “What is Johnson’s strategy?” We got tired of fighting forever with literally no plan to win. Just keep killing enemy Vietnamese until … what? They ran out of 18 years olds? There are two big lies to come out of the war. The better-known lie was that we were losing, spread by left-wing agotators. Few believed this, at least outside of universities. The second lie was that our media convinced us we were losing. I hear this a lot nowadays. Sure, they tried to do that. But most people knew we hadn’t lost. We were perfectly able to look on the map and see that every objective of the Tet Offensive had failed. They didn’t capture a single town. The Communists just lost a huge amount of supplies and troops for almost no gains. The point for the American people was that the Communists COULD launch that attack. And at that point we understood that we’d been diddled by Johnson’s administration. He had no plan to win. He thought the North and the Cong would give up. That’s when Congress and the voters turned against Johnson. Look at how right-wing media portrayed the war after that. The claim was that we were handicapped, fighting with one hand tied behind out back. Our military had its teeth pulled, our morale destroyed. And it’s true. The US Army post 1968 was a wreck. It took us until the 80s to recover our self-confidence. And we all know it wasn’t the Communists who beat us. It was our own leaders. Not just Cronkite & Rather, but Westmoreland, MacNamara, and Johnson filling the airwaves with lies. Then when the lies were exposed they had nothing to offer.

It depicts a nineteenth century Hogwarts that is about 60% nonwhite. One of the major characters is an African exchange student. A character whose job in the game is to run a series of side quests about solving puzzles in the environment randomly informs you that she is gay. The Three Broomsticks pub in Hogsmeade is run by a non-passing transwoman named Sirona Ryan and there is a sidequest where you collect lost letters to learn the story of Sirona’s transition.

In Texas we bought unwashed eggs from a lady who had chickens. Those eggs basically never ever went bad. They lasted forever. They came in interesting colors too - blue, yellow, beige, even a few white. One thing she warned is - because they weren’t washed, we had to wash our hands after handling them because there could be salmonella on the outside shell. So we washed our hands and never got sick. I miss our egg lady.

@cabsav456 @CurtisDavis If you knew all about the case, then you would know that Mueller threatened to go after Flynn's son on BS charges in order to coerce a guilt plea. A coerced guilty plea is no guilty plea.

I know all about the case. I don't want my taxpayer dollars going towards someone who pleaded guilty to crimes. Period. Furthermore, there is simply zero argument or any point you can make that justifies this. He was pardoned by Trump for crimes he pleaded guilty to, and now Trump is the one deciding to award him TAXPAYER dollars. That is wrong. Period. Everything else is completely irrelevant.

So let me get this straight. The previous administration criminally prosecuted Michael Flynn. Michael Flynn pleaded GUILTY to the charges. Then Trump 2.0 pardons Michael Flynn. Flynn sues the previous administration for politically motivated prosecution. ...And the current Trump administration is settling the lawsuit with taxpayer dollars an UNDISCLOSED amount of $. There needs to be a law against this kind of self-dealing. This is absolutely maddening.

I'm actually okay with Hawaii's ban. Seems like the riskiest place to put a nuclear plant of any US state. With cyclones, volcanoes, tsunamis, Stitch, and Jason Momoa it seems unsafe. The other bans are dumb though. Note: in the 1980s, a young friend of mine attended Berkeley High School. The school declared itself a "nuclear free zone" which my friend (emphatically NOT a right winger) thought was the stupidest thing he'd ever heard of.
