@DriveSmart_IN @motordave2 Had the Thar not had wheels & tyres extending beyond bodywork, he would have been narrow enough to pass through without crashing & toppling. @PunjabPoliceInd must stop people having tyres & wheels extending beyond bodywork, unless wheel arch extenders are fitted to cover them.

Here, bikes with mirrors are passing through. And I wonder why this truck doesn't have the mandatory side underrun protection device (SUPD) fitted.

@ReduceRoadRisks After every minor/major crash, most people involved are seen trying to argue that the other party is at fault.

Why aren't Indians serious about #RoadSafety? Simple answer - very few of them practice the phrase "PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE" Most people feel that they can handle the 'cure' (whether blaming the other party, it's road rage, offering money, just a dent) There is also an additional class of people who feel they are entitled to not respect the safety rules on the road. Nobody wants to slow down, because there's one class that believes the rules are not for the 'elites' (politicians, highly ranked officials & their relatives, rich businessmen). Then there are common people who have little to no awareness about the irreversible consequences of their actions, unless they experience themselves. The last one is those set of people nobody claims the accountability on. The vehicles used in public or goods transport are being driven by those drivers who often drive long hours, have addictions, do not drive with their families, can simply abandon the vehicle & run in case something goes wrong, and do not care about the health of the vehicle. @DriveSmart_IN @motordave2 @TopDriverIndia @ameyapc @RSGuy_India @ReduceRoadRisks #driveSafe

Anticipatory driving prevents most crashes. The biker should've observed the scooter's position & its rider starting to move, & braked hard, slowed & swerved to his left to pass BEHIND the scooterist. Instead, he sped up & tried to swerve in FRONT of the scooter, causing this.
