Horrified to wake up to this, the very thing we’ve all feared for years. It is time to fix this crisis once and for all, enough kicking the problem down the road. Fire doesn’t wait. I hope that everyone is now safe and my thoughts are with everyone affected.

Lots wondering why those in the Dagenham building were still living in a known to be unsafe building - welcome to the #BuildingSafetyCrisis. 1000s of us are living in unsafe homes. @EOCS_Official have campaigned for years on this and we've always said the fire won't wait.

A major incident has been declared following a fire at a block in Barking and Dagenham where dangerous cladding was being removed. Regardless of the cause of the fire, one fact remains: 7 years since Grenfell and people still live in blocks that are unsafe and combustible.
