The early Church already called itself Catholic and it already looked to Rome for authority WHILE the apostles were still alive. ✍🏻Ignatius of Antioch wrote in 100AD stating that “wherever the Pope appears there is the Catholic Church. ✍🏻Irenaeus of Lyons eighty years later in 180AD wrote all the Popes from his time to Peter the apostle. The idea that the RCC didn’t exist in the time right after Jesus is a fictional tale @WesleyLHuff likes to tell people to avoid the obvious truth right in front of his eyes.

In my episode with @joerogan last year I mentioned the Coherence Base Genealogical Method (CGBM), and how it's changing the way we understand the relationship between manuscripts. If you've ever heard of "Text Types" (Alexandrian; Western; Byzantine; Cesarean) discussed concerning the history of the New Testament text, then you should probably know that those categories are now almost completely abandoned in modern text criticism. Though serving a useful purpose, the idea of Text Types ended up flattening out the complexity they aimed to neatly categorize. Manuscript traditions are less like individual rivers (picture an Alexandrian River, a Western river, and a Byzantine river flowing beside but distinct to one another), and are more analogous to a marsh with main tributaries. With the textual waters of each main type bleed into one another. The liquid of manuscript agreements of one watercourse of witnesses in one set of readings spilling over via the middle marshy wetland into another waterway elsewhere. To better understand the subject here is a great article on what CBGM is and isn't by Greg Paulson, the co-editor of the Editio Critica Maior and sub-editor of the NA29 edition of the Greek New Testament. criticaltexts.com/the-one-with-t…

@KepaApp @TradReform @EcciusMaximus Ignatius meant primacy of honor/charity, not jurisdiction (read full letter). Peter rebuked (Gal 2), no pope in NT. Papacy = later Roman power grab, adding idols/purgatory/infallibility. Eastern rites absorbed corruptions. Sola Scriptura: Christ alone heads His church (Eph 5:23).

You need to actually study history! 😁😉 First, Eastern Catholics, such as myself 😁, did not submit to “5th century innovations”; they simply maintained their ancient, unbroken communion with the See of Peter, which has held primacy since the days of the Apostles. Second, If you actually read Saint Ignatius of Antioch, you would know that in AD 110 he explicitly wrote that the Church of Rome "presides in the chief place" and "presides in charity." He never saw the Papacy as a "fifth-century power grab," but rather recognized Rome's unique authority from the very beginning.

Superstitious and gullible, the natural men of the Orthodox cult constantly seek carnal means to justify their vain traditions, including the parlor trick of offering strange fire at the alleged Easter tomb of Christ, a ritual heavily exposed as a fraud during the Crusades.

@KepaApp @TradReform @EcciusMaximus Roman bishop as universal pope is a 5th-century power grab, unknown to Ignatius or Thomas’ disciples. Your ‘Eastern’ rites later submitted to Vatican innovations, purgatory, indulgences, papal infallibility. All of these are foreign to Scripture and the apostles.

Pope is the Bishop of Rome! 😊 The given name Pope (Papa or Father) is just so he distinguished from the other Bishops! 😉 So where is your “Bishop of Rome”?! 😁 And how do you explain Easter Catholics such as myself tracing back to St Thomas the Apostle from the 1st century and who had no influence from Rome for 1500+ years and believe everything the “Roman” Catholic Church believes since the 1st century? 😊

The “Scriptura” in “Sola Scriptura” literally refers to what’s “written”. God’s Word is both ORAL and WRITTEN. The Catholics are right again.

See, protestants put the nation above the church. A clear sign that they have never fully grasped the universal kingship of Christ and the supernatural unity of His Church.
