The rescue of the downed F-15E Weapon Systems Officer from behind enemy lines was an incredibly complex and dangerous operation. It required helicopters deep in hostile territory, refueling on the ground, and tight coordination across multiple units. None of it would have been possible without this great joint team effort and air superiority to keep Iranian forces from reaching the airman first.
