@idiocracy310 @yohohosuke47933 @CalltoActivism You mean broke ass red states. We'll just all be broke together. That's end stage capitalism. Finally yes.
English

@yohohosuke47933 @CalltoActivism Yawn all you want. But stay out of red states when you decide to flee

🚨HISTORIC: Mayor Mamdani officially calls for the reduction of the Pass-Through Entity Tax loophole from 100% to 75%.
MAMDANI: “That change alone would generate nearly ONE BILLION DOLLARS of additional revenue - revenue we can invest in the buses that carry New Yorkers to work, the public schools that educate our children, the public parks and beaches where we spend our summers.”
THIS IS WHAT LEADERSHIP LOOKS LIKE! LET’S GO!
English

@idiocracy310 @CalltoActivism New York didn't boom. The rich got richer and the poor got poorer and displaced.
English

@CalltoActivism New York is soooo fucked. Unlike the 70’s and 80’s they always had Wall Street as a safety net. When it was turned around under Giuliani and Trump and other investors like Trump NY boomed. That’s not going to happen this time. Call it New Detroit
English

@GoForTheGold @mike_winegarden @IRanMediaco So Trump wants to bomb Iran to the stone age and kill a hundred thousand because he cares so much about these dead Iranians? Don't be an idiot he already said he wants the oil. You probably still believe the US killed a million Iraqis to save them from Sadam and oh yeah WMDs
English

@mike_winegarden @IRanMediaco Not to mention the 30 THOUSAND Iranian citizens murdered because they opposed their DICTATORIAL leaders! But that's okay to some Americans just because it wasn't a member of their family!
English

@bradlander They weren't counter protestors. They were unaffiliated with the counter protest. They were Islamists with bombs who came to target islamophobes. If they showed up at a baseball game and threw bombs onto the field would you call them baseball fans?
English

The explosives yesterday near Gracie Mansion were not thrown by the Islamophobic protestors, but by their counter-protesters. Violence is utterly unacceptable, wherever it comes from. I’m glad the individuals responsible are in custody and they should be held accountable under the law.
The NYPD officers on the scene deserve tremendous credit for getting a very dangerous situation under control. It’s a miracle that there wasn’t grave bodily harm to anyone present.
I’m sorry for jumping to conclusions and posting too soon. But I’m not sorry for hating Islamophobia as much as I hate antisemitism.
Brad Lander@bradlander
Happy to know that our Mayor and First Lady are safe, but horrified that there was such a disturbing threat of violence outside their residence. Vile displays of Islamophobia will never be tolerated in our city.
English

@Is_Not_Brian @katewillett If the City got folks off the street before the second storm hit they did it without performing a single sweep. So why start now? Dedicated outreach and acceptable housing options get people off the street not sweeps.
English

@katewillett Genuine question for you (happy to read anything too), these sweeps were done right before another blizzard, I thought the intention was to get ppl off the streets so a bunch of people didnt die again. What was his previous approach & how would it have worked here?
English

This not an accurate representation of what the resolution says at all. I know, bc I’m a co-author.
We would like DSA to stand in solidarity with homeless New Yorkers and ask the Mayor to return to his previous approach- which connected far more people to services than sweeps.

English

I find it fascinating that the left’s position on homelessness seems to be simply leaving people on the streets. I’m glad Zohran isn’t following such a misguided policy. Some of you don’t even consider the impact it has on everyday people. I’ll never forget the video of a girl being attacked by a homeless person on her way home from school.
welcome to our trash revolution@trash_panda97
hey is it good that a homeless advocacy group has to call out an NYC-DSA co-chair for misleading people about zohran’s homeless encampment sweep policy?

@MaxSpikeAl @SafetyNetUJC @unionGustavo That's a medical emergency, sweeps don't address that. Sweeps have deprived people of their belongings including protective items and put them at risk of a medical emergency during inclement weather.
English

@SafetyNetUJC @unionGustavo What should happen if a homeless person is evidently in a psychotic episode, out overnight in the freezing cold with inadequate clothing, and refusing offers to come inside for the evening in warming center/respite/drop-in/hospital?
English

@americans12499 Yeah reporting incognito. They were live tweeting the whole time so never was a secret.

600 ICE agents were supposed to be deployed to Canal Street. Hundreds of New Yorkers gathered instead. Quick summary by me:

@Idaho4570 @nypost Why? Jews that are far left support a free Palestine and aren't worried about a deli named after Gaza.

@HarlemJ11 @PROTVGONIST @Phil_Lewis_ Both sides love supporting Israel killing Palestinians. Both sides love billionaires. Both sides love locking up black and brown folks. Both sides don't do shit to end homelessness. Both sides love oppressing the global south. Which one is the good side again?
English

@PROTVGONIST @Phil_Lewis_ Gone somewhere with this tired assed “both sides do the same thing” rhetoric

“Trump is using military forces to stop a protest — I want y'all to consider what kind of government it appears to be when every time we exercise our democratic right to protest, the military is deployed against us.”

@HarlemJ11 @Phil_Lewis_ People getting scooped up by ICE and deported can't vote and many of them are Black
English

@Phil_Lewis_ Flashback to last year’s BET Awards when Taraji warned folks about Project 2025 and its white supremacy and people still voted for Trump. Most especially Latinos!!!
Then got the nerve to come out here telling us to fight ICE. Tuh.

@SocialDr0nes @Lionel_Mandrake @BlackRedGuard1 Black communities do not have it good in Democratic cities. Blue states or red states it is only the white elites who are protected and prosper. This has always been the outcome of every election and voting won't change that.
English

@Lionel_Mandrake @BlackRedGuard1 Exactly. The majority of these so-called radicals live in Democratic cities, so they get to sit in their plush blue glass houses, throwing stones while the impact of their decision hurts Black communities in red states the most.
English

Angela Davis hasn’t said a radical thing since the ‘80s quit listening to her. We can acknowledge her contributions to the struggles of the past while also recognizing that her politics have declined and she now serves those who once saw her as a threat. She is no longer as a threat, she’s a tame, geriatric sad tiger that people go to see at the zoo.
