The Pokémon scalper war in Japan has reached a breaking point.
Stores are now literally cutting the corners of booster packs at checkout to kill the resale value.
If we’ve reached the point where we have to mutilate the product just to keep it in the hands of fans, the hobby is in serious trouble.
This isn't a solution; it’s a symptom.
And it’s only going to get uglier.
Valid move or total desperation?
WTF is games journalism anymore?
Almost 500k players within a couple of hours on launch day for Subnautica 2, and it only gets a 7/10
Meanwhile, mixtape is basically dead despite getting a 10/10.
Does anyone still take IGN seriously anymore? Do they even get any traffic other than people clipping their website just to mock them?
Is it because Subnautica added a white person as the character to play? That's why they are shitting on it, isn't it?
Some of my most recent haters. From left to right we have. Non-Binary T1000, Pedo Unicorn, Meghan the Lot Lizard, Jack & Jack. Who wins this Fatal Four Way??
This happened 1 year ago
Lords of the Fallen devs used my shot for the patch image! I was really honored, but unfortunately they didn't tag me or ask me anything. Anyway it was pretty cool!
No stream today Champs and I’m not even NDA’d outta my mind.
It’s Mrs Assassin’s birthday so you know the drill… Jacuzzi, Massages, Pedicures, and then probably more Jacuzzi.
Yaya. Yaya yaya
Journos are working on a coordinated attempt to try to harm Lords of the Fallen 2 because of bikini armor.
It's coordinated and it's obvious.
Does anyone listen to these people anymore?
You know who DOESN'T use any "Consultants"... Luminary
We just make what we want to see in our game. It's that simple.
How do you feel about game companies using "consultants"?
People should go back to praising things they like and stop spending their time shitting on things they dont like. No one gives a shit about your negative opinion Karen.
Kotaku seems really desperate lately.
They're going after women now, including female content creators, just for saying they want attractive characters in games. They took a shot at TheBackgroundNPC (one of the nicest and sweetest creators out there) over her sponsored video for Lords of the Fallen 2.
They say : "The armor drop is a blatant attempt to cater to misogynistic culture war fanatics."
What culture war? We just want games where the studio actually listens to what players want instead of giving us whatever and then getting mad when we don't like it.
She was just talking about the new female armor sets and how the studio actually asked players what they wanted. That's it!!!
People are happy the devs listen and made something players actually asked for!!!
It just feels like Kotaku is reaching really hard for clicks at this point.
Sorry for the rant! I'm so tired of these "game journos"
Lords of the Fallen fixed the first game using customer feedback, polled their audience multiple times, are constantly replying to fans on social media.
Listening to your audience is "a desperate plea for relevance"?
The only one desperate for relevance here is Polygon.
