Trying to watch the new series Scarpetta (remember those great books?), which is supposed to be about a medical examiner, true crime, and serial killers. In the first episode, Nicole Kidman and her sister, Jamie Lee Curtis, are fighting (loudly, viciously, screaming) over Jamie Lee Curtis' daughter Ariana DeBose, who is black and gay and mourning her dead wife. I'm just like - can't I just watch a true crime series to take my mind off things? Apparently not. Must confront mandated queer representation, even in this, because representation has to be everywhere. Even if it doesn't fit at all in the story. Someday, we will look back on this era and laugh at how obvious it all was. Time, place, and mood matter when you are telling a story. Everything doesn't have to reflect the woke Left.
