@StanCollymore You were epic, but it absolutely helps when the person on the end of a lot of those assists is Robbie Fowler, and both of you benefited from being fed by McManaman. Some side going forward, just too soft at the back.

They weren't even counted then. I got 30 goal contributions on my first Liverpool season which ( pundit mode) is fucking AAA class but I felt disappointed because I'd only scored 19 goals versus 22 the season before at Forest. But the reality is was my first Liverpool season was statistically better than my Forest one the season before using goal contributions ( 30 versus 28). So imagine Wirtz or Isak getting 30 goal contributions this season! They'd have a banner on the Kop!!
BoroLurker@BoroLurker

@StanCollymore Was an assist as big a deal to players when you played, as it seems to be now, Stan?

@Dwasint @CaribbeanRythms And the fact the missions were tracked by a country they were in both a cold war and a space race with.. and they never called them out on it!

@CaribbeanRythms would far surpass decades of military spending. There would undoubtedly be mistakes and you'd be able to find the hush funds. Not to mention all the secondary and tertiary companies involved in the production and launching of the spaceship.

If you would have taken a basic PADI dive course you’d know it’s called Boyles law. The volume of air you breathe decreases the deeper you go underwater because the pressure increases. When air is compressed underwater, each breath you take uses twice as many air molecules from your tank. If you think this is a hoax too I would invite you to try holding your breath the next time you go scuba diving and ascend. Great fun.

@noobbricks It was sorted for the Nurburgring the race before, but he collided with Webber at the start and that was that (I think he'd have won). So without that, lie gate, his monza crash and the retirement from the lead in Abu Dhabi, he actually could've fought for the title

Hungary 2009 To defend his maiden world title of 2008, Mclaren delivered Hamilton a shockingly horrible car for the following regulation cycle of 2009. The MP4-24 struggled to compete even with backmarkers through pre-season testing. A second title had been written off before the season had even kicked off. In the opening rounds, the Mclaren was miles off the leading pace of the Brawn's. Reliability of both surrounding cars and driver helped Mclaren to some decent Top 10 finishes. but it was far cry from the dominant force they had been in the years prior. Hamilton's faith in his team was tested to the brink. Could they deliver him the car that he knew he was worthy of? Furthermore, big changes in leadership saw the legendary Ron Dennis step down as Team Principal. The trajectory for a return to form looked bleak. Motivated by their star driver, the team however kept pushing. They knew they had what it took. And so they came to Hungary with a car they finally considered good enough to fight for podiums against the suspected stronger cars of Ferrari and Red Bull. Now the pressure was on Hamilton to finally deliver that long awaited top 3 finish and re-announce Mclaren as a top team. And well...
14 FERRARI 16@infinityl11

@noobbricks The quality of a driver shows in the tough times, when the car isn't competitive. When you have a car that's 50 seconds faster, anyone can look brilliant. What we've seen from Ham when he didn't have a car 50 seconds better than everyone rules him out of being one of the greatest

@Rich_23_07 @PolitlcsUK When you send tens of billions of British tax payers money to Ukraine with zero audit or accountability, prolong a war of attrition now Russian have 80% of the disputed lands and prolong a cost of living crisis destroying British GDP, then yes - he should have kept out of it.

@PolitlcsUK By claiming the cost of living crisis is only 5 MINS old attributed to Iran? Rubbish. It has been been the now 5th YEAR of the Ukraine Russia proxy war. Energy security is gone. National security angering the US, is gone. Starmer has failed to serve Britains best interests.

@yamman3 @TruthF111 He lost podiums due to poor safety car luck in 2022 (Not as bad as his luck in Brazil 07, Malaysia 16 or AD 2021 of course). You can hardly blame his mood for Spa 24 when the team won't let him one stop but proceed to let George do so and he jumps 5 places 😄.

Same in 2023 when he got safety car luck for podiums. Then had a rant at his team anyway. In 2024 got that lucky win at Spa, where he flounced off in a huff and refused to take part in the team photo, then found out he'd won because they did give him the perfect strategy after all.

This guy is a hater on a mission 😄 In China he 'luck corrected' Charles because Lewis was quicker and this week he forgot to do that In Australia he had 'lost motivation' cuz max got cooked and now he's back with all the motivation now that he made up some 5 tenths by max on hadjar All of these shameless data accounts need to be clowned upon at the very least There was a time when journalism and analysis brought you respect. These guys deserved to be shamed on the daily

@spasmboing @NOELY1982 You can't just watch clips of it, you have to watch it through and get in the mood/flow of it. It's all still subjective of course, but I feel like I'm hard to please and have found both seasons of it far more hilarious than most of the recent comedy content in the UK

lando on how battery deployment makes racing feel like yo-yoing: "honestly some of the racing, i didn't even want to overtake lewis. it’s just that my battery deploys, i don't want it to deploy, but i can't control it. so, i overtake him, and then i have no battery left, so he just flies past. this is not racing, this is yo-yoing. even though he [hamilton] says it's not, it is yo-yoing."

He saying the same things now as he was after the Barcelona shakedown: The cars are fun to drive but you need a masters degree to understand the battery deployment. And the racing in China between him and Leclerc was obviously NOT yo-yoing

@MrJamesMay @DeborahMeaden I went last week, and in its current state with the exhibits that are on, I've never been more disappointed. This wasn't helped by the fact the aero section had been privately booked (which I hate that they allow). Had a far better time in Natural History, and I'm an engineer

@rynardtspies @heidfeldmafia Totally disagree with you. I watched through them at the time and was excited as a Schumacher fan. But I watched all the races throughout the 90s and 00s over the last couple of years through a YT channel called BigZeddie, and oh my god most of them are dreadfully dull.

@rynardtspies @heidfeldmafia Just about the only saving grace was the noise. Overtakes were incredibly rare for the same reasons DRS was eventually introduced.. they'd rely solely on pit strategy.

*Shell shows Lewis Hamilton a special message from Richard Hammond* Lewis: “I’ve never met him before, I don’t really know him so… *laughs* I’ve seen him on TV a couple times but… That was very strange, I was not expecting to see him of all people. Why did you choose him? I don’t know it could’ve been anyone, I don’t know but it’s nice, the message was really nice, thank you so much.” 😭😭😭😭 “But no, I grew up watching his show so it caught me by surprise… He’s a Shell ambassador …? I don’t know I just…”

@ZaceDan @be_shouldnt @Snakey_Uk @44britcedes They'll have been on site though. There's a behind the scenes vid of when Seb went on, and in the office on site he met Richard and James.. they both watched Jezza do the interview usually from the floor too. I think the biggest thing here is Lewis' terrible memory
