Gladiator is mediocre. It has some fun battle sequences, and Russell Crowe tries his best to pump up the gravitas, but it's just another swords and sandals B-movie. Ben Hur was better.

Weird dichotomy where all the people I know who are actively enlisted in the military feel the conflict is about to heat up but most of the people shitposting on Twitter are confident it won’t. I don’t know who to believe.

This is a take I will take to my grave. I know @BarstoolBigCat ranted about this on @PardonMyTake today, but I’m willing to be the “remember when” guy that Tony Soprano hates solely for this take. Just gave games different personality. All feels too bland & undistinguishable.

I miss the days when the NCAA Tournament used home floors and you knew instantly where every game was being played. Every game now has the same generic feeling. Bring back this vibe.

I’m 15 minutes into the HBO series Neighbors and there is a guy named Shoreline Defender using a voice changer while wearing a prosthetic mask asking how the producers knew he was making an app about public beaches. 1000000/10 ridiculous and it’s only 15 minutes in

Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani
For Mahmoud Khalil, this past year has been marked by profound hardship—and by profound courage. A year ago, Mahmoud was walking home through our city after sharing an iftar with his wife Noor when he was detained by federal agents, flown to Louisiana, and then held in an ICE facility for months. In that time, he was forced to miss the birth of his first child. All of this for exercising his First Amendment rights in protesting the ongoing genocide in Palestine. And yet, even in the face of that cruelty, there has also been beauty. New Yorkers raising their voices in solidarity. A city refusing to look away. Mahmoud won his freedom, and a father was finally reunited with his child. Last night, as we marked the one year anniversary of his detention, Rama and I were honored to welcome Mahmoud, Noor, and their son Deen to Gracie Mansion to break our fast together. Mahmoud is a New Yorker, and he belongs in New York City.

JUST IN: Chamath Palihapitiya makes a big claim that Warren Buffett’s insane pre 2000 returns may have benefited from access to information asymmetry not available to the public Here's what he had to say: "In 2000, we introduced the law called Reg FD. And what was the point of Reg FD? It was basically that if you're a CFO, you cannot talk to an individual stock manager and tell him something that you then don't tell everybody else. Essentially inside information. That used to be not illegal. I won't say that it was legal. I would just say that used to be not illegal. You call your CFO buddy, he says, "hey, how you doing?" He goes, man, "Quarter was a blockbuster." You would go and buy the stock. And starting in the 2000s, it became illegal. And there used to be these networks of information arbitrage that took advantage of this. Now, this is an example of Warren Buffett's returns, pre and post Reg FD. Now, what do you see? His returns were double the market returns when this kind of information sharing was legal. And the minute that it became illegal and you had to basically act on the same edge as everybody else, his returns went to the market return. He generated zero alpha. In fact, he probably on the margins lost a little bit. So this is the single best investor in the world. This is what happens when you have information symmetry. So it's just meant to explain that markets when there's asymmetry. Billions and billions of dollars will be made in asymmetry. The prediction markets today, unless they are regulated out of existence or shut down, will look like the stock market pre-Reg FD."

Reid Hoffman stayed at Jeffrey Epstein's ranch, private island, and Manhattan apartment. He bought "ice cream... for the girls" and a "metal sculpture for the island." Hoffman donated over $100M to Democratic causes. He funded fake Russian bots on Twitter and financed the E. Jean Carroll lawsuit against President Trump. He funded Clear Choice PAC, which used lawfare to remove Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West from the ballot in battleground states. He claims to be fighting for democratic principles. Yet his money financed fake Russian bot armies and stripped Americans of their right to vote for their preferred candidates. He also funded FusionGPS, the firm behind the Steele dossier, which fueled the disinformation campaign that claimed Trump was a Russian asset. Hoffman is the co-founder of LinkedeIn, an early investor in Facebook, on the board of Microsoft, and he was in a total bromance with Jeffrey Epstein. They emailed each other 1,700+ times, called each other "very close friends," discussed visits to Epstein’s properties, private jet shopping, gift exchanges, and talked about how much they “missed” each other. Among the presidents, princes, prime ministers, tech billionaires, and powerful people named in the Epstein files, who stayed at all three of Epstein's homes? Reid Hoffman. Hoffman was in the 1% of Epstein's inner circle who stayed at all three of his homes. And the craziest email? In January 2015, as allegations that Epstein trafficked Virginia Roberts to Prince Andrew went global, Hoffman offered to help Epstein with his negative press coverage. Why was Reid Hoffman, one of the Democratic Party’s largest donors, offering Jeffrey Epstein PR assistance as the child trafficking scandal exploded?
