You can always count on me to support law enforcement and to fight illegal immigration. Today, in St. John’s County I had the pleasure of doing both as I awarded more than $1.8M to support five of our incredible Sheriffs participating in the 287g program. Our Sheriffs are on the front lines keeping our communities safe and I’m proud to deliver the resources they need!

It’s an honor to have the early support of so many Florida Sheriffs as we head towards next year’s election. Florida is the safest big state in the country to raise a family because of their tough-on-crime approach to law enforcement. We have the best sheriffs in the country!

Last week, St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (@TeamSJSO) Sheriff Rob Hardwick (@Rob_HardwickFL) stood alongside Immigration And Customs Enforcement (@ICEgov) Deputy Director Madison Sheehan (@ICEDeputy), @GovRonDeSantis, @AGJamesUthmeier, @FLHSMV Director Dave Kerner, and other Florida leaders to announce historic 287(g) funding for Task Force partners. This funding is more than a ceremonial check—it’s an investment in stronger partnerships between local, state, and federal agencies. These resources will directly support the men and women of Florida law enforcement agencies and enhance the mission to protect Florida families from drug dealers, human traffickers, and criminals who target our children. We are grateful for the leadership of Governor DeSantis, our Cabinet, and the Florida Legislature, including @FLSenate President Ben Albritton (@Sen_Albritton) and @myflhouse House Speaker (@Daniel_PerezFL), whose support ensures law enforcement has the tools needed to keep communities safe. Immigration enforcement is a complex challenge that has been decades in the making, but sheriffs will always uphold the law and work with our federal and state partners to defend our communities. When law enforcement stands united, criminals don’t stand a chance.

By turning tragedy into a source of compassion, Kirsten Bridegan is making a lasting impact on law enforcement and our communities.   It was an honor to present a Back the Blue Award to Kirsten for her efforts to help others with the Bexley Boxes program—where essential childcare items are provided to law enforcement officers to help them comfort children who find themselves in traumatic situations.
