Ford has announced that is it partnering with Apple to use Apple Maps in the company's new self-driving system. Apple Maps will be integrated directly into Ford’s upcoming Universal Electric Vehicle (UEV) Platform. Development of Ford’s next-generation self-driving technology is led by Latitude AI, Ford’s wholly owned autonomy subsidiary, who are building Ford’s in-house advanced driving system: "Latitude is developing the Ford Large Driving Model, which supports a spectrum of self-driving capabilities, all derived from millions of miles of real-world driving data. Ford and Latitude design both the hardware and the software, making Ford’s self-driving technology highly efficient and easily scalable across the Ford lineup."

Do legacy media outlets typically use headlines involving the make of a car in a crash or is that only for Tesla? It would be one thing if the self-driving malfunctioned but the crash was purely human-induced. Seems like these outlets want to associate Tesla with crashes as part of a narrative and overall political agenda.
