The bogus "investigation" was launched following allegations that Indiana Fever fans were being "racist" to Reese. "Based on information gathered to date, including from relevant fans, team, and arena staff, as well as audio and video review of the game, we have not substantiated [the claims]." Some of the allegations appeared to stem from claims that fans were making "monkey noises" when Reese was taking free throws after a flagrant foul was called on Caitlin Clark.
