@Appipolilogies @michaelmalice @aboardgravyboat Semicolons are for attaching thoughts that could be separate sentences; you use them to control flow where a comma isn't connected enough, while a period provides too hard a stop. Em dashes are used to adjoin tangents — nobody uses colons right, either — to a work.

Every time I look up at the Moon now, even the one at Space Center Houston, it feels different. It’s no longer just a distant light in the night sky — it’s a place I’ve studied up close with my own eyes. I find myself tracing its features, recognizing the shadows, the craters, the quiet stories written across its surface. The Moon hasn’t changed, but now when I observe it, it comes back to life in my mind with a new and treasured perspective.

Only one chance in this lifetime… Like watching sunset at the beach from the most foreign seat in the cosmos, I couldn’t resist a cell phone video of Earthset. You can hear the shutter on the Nikon as @Astro_Christina is hammering away on 3-shot brackets and capturing those exceptional Earthset photos through the 400mm lens. @AstroVicGlover was in window 3 watching with @Astro_Jeremy next to him. I could barely see the Moon through the docking hatch window but the iPhone was the perfect size to catch the view…this is uncropped, uncut with 8x zoom which is quite comparable to the view of the human eye. Enjoy.

Torpedo the Visa Renewal Path If the U.S. Navy can take someone off the street and train them to operate a nuclear submarine in under three years… Then Amazon can train an American to do a tech job in that same time. The truth is simple: every H-1B renewal proves the job was never “temporary.” Amazon had three full years to find, hire, or train an American. Instead, they chose to renew the visa and lock in foreign labor. That isn’t compliance. It’s abuse. It’s un-American. And it betrays every citizen who could have filled that role. Dump the visa renewal path. Hire and train Americans.

U.S. forces operating in the Arabian Sea enforced naval blockade measures against an Iranian-flagged cargo vessel attempting to sail toward an Iranian port, April 19. Guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) intercepted M/V Touska as it transited the north Arabian Sea at 17 knots enroute to Bandar Abbas, Iran. American forces issued multiple warnings and informed the Iranian-flagged vessel it was in violation of the U.S. blockade. After Touska’s crew failed to comply with repeated warnings over a six-hour period, Spruance directed the vessel to evacuate its engine room. Spruance disabled Touska’s propulsion by firing several rounds from the destroyer’s 5-inch MK 45 Gun into Touska’s engine room. U.S. Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit later boarded the non-compliant vessel, which remains in U.S. custody. American forces acted in a deliberate, professional, and proportional manner to ensure compliance. Since the blockade’s commencement, U.S. forces have directed 25 commercial vessels to turn around or return to an Iranian port.

@elonmusk Economic value is going to be completely reoriented around robotic labor hours; knowledge-specialization is out of the picture, which turns it into a question of tool specialization and robot-laborer counts. Money probably doesn't serve as a useful all-purpose abstraction here.

Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

@MatthewBAX @elonmusk Any source of extra oomph is one more thing that can go wrong, cold launching means that it's do or die, and hot-launching means that the extra boost can't provide meaningful value.

@elonmusk I keep thinking there must be someway to boost the launches from the ground for that little bit of extra OOOMPH! I know you don't want boosters to be necessary... but why not 'optional'? Springs? EM Rails? Shoot lasers into the rocket cones to initiate fusion?!? SOMETHING?

California is trying to pass a bill that would criminalize investigative journalism with misdemeanors, $10,000 fines, imprisonment, and content takedown. The proposed bill is titled AB 2624 and was made after I exposed mass fraud by immigrant groups in America. Under AB 2624, government-funded entities like the Somali “Learing” Daycare centers would be protected from being exposed if they operated inside California. The enemy truly is within. When our politicians would rather protect fraudsters and illegal migrants, it’s time for us to stand up or face mass oppression from the traitors who “rule” over us.

I am hesitant to get ahead of a proper data review, but I understand the space community’s curiosity, especially when imagery can give the impression of a problem. As you would expect, engineers were eager to inspect the heat shield, starting with diver imagery shortly after splashdown and continuing with the review aboard the ship. No unexpected conditions were observed. I suspect when the images are released, it will be pretty obvious the stark difference between Artemis I and Artemis II head shield performance. As to the question specifically, the discoloration was not liberated material. The white color observed corresponds to the compression pad area and is consistent with the local geometry, AVCOAT byproducts, and transitional heating environments. We observed this behavior in arc jet testing and expected it in this compression pad area. We will complete a full data review across all systems, including the thermal protection system, and make the results publicly available.

After a journey of more than 690,000 miles, the crew is nearly home. The Artemis II crew will splash down off the coast of San Diego later today and, though it won’t be visible from land, you can still wave in their general direction to welcome them back to Earth! 👋
