Oracle just told every AI company on earth the same thing. Your models are worthless. Not the technology, talent or the billions spent training them. But the data they were trained on. Larry Ellison, the man who built Oracle into the backbone of global enterprise just dropped a bombshell. He said ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, and Llama, all of them are training on the exact same data. The entire public internet, every Wikipedia page, Reddit thread and every news article. That means they're all converging essentially becoming the same product with different logos. Ellison's word for it is commodities. But here's where it gets dangerous. He says the real gold isn't public data, It's private data. The medical records in hospital systems, the financial data in bank vaults. The supply chain secrets of every Fortune 500 and guess where most of that data already lives. Not Google, Amazon or Microsoft but inside Oracle. Oracle databases hold most of the world's high value private enterprise data. So Oracle just launched something called AI Database 26ai. It lets the top AI models, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, Llama reason directly over a company's private data, without that data ever leaving the vault. They're using a technique called RAG, Retrieval Augmented Generation. The AI doesn't train on your data, it searches it in real time. Think about what that means. A bank could ask AI to analyze every loan it's ever made without exposing a single customer record. A hospital could have AI diagnose patients using its full medical history without violating HIPAA. A defense contractor could let AI reason across classified operations without data leaving a secure environment. Ellison is betting this is bigger than the training market. Bigger than the GPU boom. Bigger than the data center buildout. He called it the largest and fastest growing market in history. The numbers back the ambition. Oracle's remaining performance obligations just hit $523 billion. That's contracted revenue not yet delivered and $300 billion of it comes from OpenAI alone. Cloud revenue hit $8 billion in a single quarter, OCI grew 66 percent and GPU revenue surged 177 percent. But here's the part nobody's talking about. If private data becomes the real AI moat, then whoever controls the database controls the future of AI. And that's a level of power that should make everyone uncomfortable.

Dr. Fei-Fei Li just called out the biggest blind spot in the entire AI industry. We have been building half of human intelligence. And calling it the finish line. Li: “If you look at human intelligence, it pretty much boils down to two buckets.” The first bucket is language. Symbolic reasoning. Communication. The ability to think in words and abstractions. That’s what every major AI lab has spent the last decade building. The second bucket is the one the industry has almost entirely ignored. Li: “We call that in AI spatial intelligence.” How humans and animals perceive, navigate, and interact with the three-dimensional physical world. How we reach for objects. How we move through space. How we build and manipulate physical reality. From painting masterpieces to constructing the pyramids, non-verbal spatial intelligence is what actually shapes the world. Language describes reality. Spatial intelligence acts on it. And the gap between those two things is the gap between a chatbot and a robot. Li: “When this technology is ready, the robotic revolution is gonna start. We’re already seeing that trend.” Every robot is a moving agent. Every moving agent requires spatial intelligence to function in the real world. The humanoid robots being deployed in factories right now are hitting the ceiling of what language models alone can power. Spatial intelligence is the unlock. But Li didn’t stop at robotics. Li: “From a geopolitics point of view, this is part of the technology that goes straight into weapons.” Autonomous drone swarms. Battlefield navigation. Physical target acquisition without human oversight. Every military application of AI that operates in the real world runs on spatial intelligence. The nation that masters the transition from static text to dynamic three-dimensional perception doesn’t just win the software race. It commands the physical battlefield. The AI arms race just broke out of the data center. It’s operating in three dimensions now.

Protecting employees from AI replacement sounds good but all companies or countries who do that will lose to those who don’t. Need structural not patchwork solutions. Any constraints on layoffs will also hugely advantage startups and Chinese companies.

The answer doesn't have to be in your head; you can look outside yourself. If you're truly looking at things objectively, you must recognize that the probability of you always having the best answer is small and that, even if you have it, you can't be confident that you do before others test you. So it is invaluable to know what you don't know. Ask yourself: Am I seeing this just through my own eyes? If so, then you should know that you're terribly handicapped. #principleoftheday

This is simultaneously a tremendous achievement (one light day is really far!) and a sobering realization that the universe is an incredibly vast place. In 50 years, Voyager has traveled ~1/1500th of the distance to the nearest star (Alpha Centauri, ~4.27 light years away).

Voyager 1 Is About to Reach One Light-day from Earth After nearly 50 years in space, NASA’s Voyager 1 is about to hit a historic milestone. By November 15, 2026, it will be 16.1 billion miles (25.9 billion km) away, meaning a radio signal will take a full 24 hours, a full light-day to reach it.

Everyone at HHS is mourning the passing of Stanford Professor Dr. Nolan Williams. Dr. Williams envisioned a world where the field of psychiatry addresses the root causes of depression and where patients receive precision treatments tailored to their individual brains. At Stanford, he identified biomarkers to predict who would benefit from neuromodulation, created SAINT, an accelerated protocol for treatment-resistant depression, and led groundbreaking studies on ibogaine in veterans with traumatic brain injury and post-traumatic stress disorder. To everyone suffering from depression or suicidal thoughts: you are valued, and we see you. Reversing the mental health crisis is a key priority for me. Dr. Williams made a profound impact on the world—one that will endure. We are praying for his family and will honor his legacy by advancing research and delivering innovative mental health therapies to patients.
