MORE: Retired St. Paul Fire Captain and top recruit Thomas Bever, now living in a barn with his family to afford medical bills for injuries suffered on the job, took his story to @amyklobuchar multiple times but received only a generic response. "Why does that person get gender reassignment surgery, but I got hurt in the line of duty and can't get a shoulder or knee operation and have to fight for that? It's become very clear to me that this state is corrupt on so many levels," he said.

@amyklobuchar If you've done anything for the state, I don't see it. All you've done is rubber stamp the Dem party line for 20 years while our once-great state has gone further downhill every year.

Minnesota cannot afford to have a rubber stamp for the President in the governor's office. From the tariffs to health care cuts, I have taken on the White House and gotten things done for our state.

@wil_da_beast630 I read about half of these in my rural, "red county" conservative high school.

@RichardAngwin I read four of these at my rural, Republican-represented area high school. Your assertion is simply not true. Never mind the fact that all of these books are readily obtainable with a few clicks of a mouse.

These are just some of the books Republicans have banned in school and public libraries around the country. Who's read any of these ??

You guys … I’m worn down. I’m bone dry. I’m working hard on a case that I cannot talk about, but I need to keep going because it honors God and the victims deserve justice. Please pray for me. My faith is strong, but I’m tired, and I feel paper thin right now.

@MayorFrey Why would I drive to Uptown to park for free? To get carjacking or have my vehicle vandalized? For the homeless drug addicts? You let the city go downhill to the point there's nothing left to visit.

Extent to which you lose your composure in public is not a reliable metric for whether your rights were violated, which is why we have courts to think about these things. I’d submit she doesn’t have much to add to public debate and we should steer clear and let her rant alone.

Michelle Jump came from Henrico to protest the Supreme Court of Virginia’s ruling. She is shouting “shame” and says the Supreme Court silenced the people. Hear more from Jump tonight on @8NEWS.

@SenTinaSmith It has taken me yrs to slowly taper to 5 mg of Zoloft. Doctors never told me these drugs cause dependency in the body or that they would be so difficult to deprescribe. People deserve the truth, not foul-mouthed rants from pharma shills.

You have 2 conservative candidates: Candidate A says we must halt immigration because they’re not a good culture match, they don’t assimilate Candidates B says we must halt immigration because they’re polluting genes of the glorious white race Both want to halt immigration, so what’s the difference? I’ll tell you: Candidate B has a warped, pagan anthropology that will lead him to make evil, unjust decisions. Also, he’s completely unelectable. Purge the “Candidate Bs” from our movement, or our movement—and the country—is toast.

🚨 Minnesota Democrats just voted against requiring the Secretary of State to verify that every voter is a U.S. citizen and legally eligible to vote in our elections. If you thought the daycare and Medicaid fraud was bad… just imagine how bad the election fraud is.

@CaitlinPacific @walterkirn This is very fast, esp. for people who have been on SSRIs for a long time. I tried this and it was a complete disaster. The withdrawal was unbearable. I found a Dr who knows what to do and it has taken years to get to 5 mg of Zoloft. Probably several more ahead. It's that slow.

@walterkirn Best practice: a step-down process coordinated with a doctor. Usually going down a a quarter of a dose for 1-2 weeks, followed by a half a dose and keeping in contact with her/him. It will be uncomfortable not unbearable. If it is call the doc and you’ll go up a bit for longer.

It took real courage for Ella Emhoff to say all this. I missed it at the time. I applaud her candor.
fireworks and confetti@fworksconfetti

Ella Emhoff, stepdaughter of former Vice President Kamala Harris, from 16 December last year: "...I'm just sitting here crocheting, waiting for a friend, and I was just listening to this podcast that The Wall Street Journal put out about SSRIs and anti-anxiety meds and kind of the over-prescription of them in America. "And it was making me think a lot because I've been on SSRIs for over a decade, almost fifteen years probably, and they were calling out the lack of research on long-term use of these things. "They were calling out the lack of information that doctors give about coming off of these meds and kind of the psychological effects they can have. "And it really got me thinking how little I've thought about that, naively, obviously. "But I've noticed that every time I've gone off of it for a week or missed it or for whatever reason, like, it has been really hard for me, and I've had a really hard time. "And I guess this is just something I was wondering if you guys have thought about or relate to or kind of consider when you're thinking about going on meds like that. "Because I don't know if this is something that I feel like is being talked about enough because I feel like so many of us are on these meds, and this is, like, actually happening. "Like, people get off of them, and they kind of break down, and it can be really bad. So yeah, I guess I just want your general thoughts."

A ripper of an article by @BekahKnowsBS: "Men are leaving for other spaces because they are constantly under attack in higher education. Every semester, I have male students in my office venting about how professors allow classmates to openly stereotype and malign them. They feel uncomfortable, but most don’t speak up against this discrimination because doing so risks igniting the fire of a Title IX investigation. Challenging a female professor or classmate risks hurting someone’s feelings and becoming the target of a complaint. Make a woman feel uncomfortable, and the inquisition ensues. Do the same to a man? The feelings-first, anti-male brigade shrugs: he probably deserved it. Ironically, the men who do endure this environment, endure it precisely because of the qualities modern feminists vilify: the ability to tolerate disagreement."

Klobuchar, hours before the Biden/Trump debate: “Biden is fit to be Commander in Chief. Every time there's been a big moment where the Trump people are predicting some fiasco, President Biden rises to the occasion." Then we have...Biden’s debate. Speaking of frauds.

Minnesotans are right to be angry about fraud. It is unacceptable and it must end. As governor, I will strengthen criminal penalties and launch a top to bottom audit of state government to root out waste, fraud, and abuse. Learn about my plan here: amyklobuchar.com/my-plan

As a former prosecutor, I know we need to root out fraud and hold people accountable. As governor, I will order a top-to-bottom audit of our state agencies, strengthen criminal penalties, and increase in-person inspections. And that’s just the start. duluthnewstribune.com/news/minnesota…

Auto theft is sky high in Minneapolis. There are regularly 20+ cars stolen every day in Minneapolis. Not to mention the people who have their windows smashed. It's not unheard of for people to see fights and carjackings near their homes. There was a shooting in south Minneapolis with 30+ shots fired in the local park. Half the restaurants downtown are gone compared to 2019. We have failing public schools. Lightrail was ranked the worst in the country for perceived rider safety. Taxes and fees are some of the highest in the country. The local public hospital is bankrupt.

I grew up in the Twin Cities and always found the quality-of-life arguments smug and self-satisfied. But they’re also true. I haven’t lived there in almost 20 years but it’s absolutely the highest quality-of-life in America.
