A fun question we discussed on the show today. @SoundTransit is discussing ways they can save some money as they are obviously WAY over budget. I think there are three or four options on the table, but how about this interesting possibility inspired by my good buddy Todd Myers @WAPolicyGreen. To date, ST has actually spent somewhere between 20 and $25 billion of their projected 185 billion dollars necessary to finish the project. Why not just stop now? You’ve basically got tracks from Federal Way to Lynnwood, which is pretty good…and if they took the win and called it a day, people wouldn’t have to continue paying $1800 a year per household in taxes for a train that 97% of them won’t use! I think this is actually a very interesting, non-partisan solution to a massively problematic cost. Maybe some legal experts out there will explain that it’s not possible for myriad reasons, but for now, any further investment feels like throwing good money after bad.

@jasonrantz Jason, Ask Senator @PattyMurray how many non-citizens are routinely registered to vote by the WA DOL. hint: state officials have known about this for years. See this document I got from King County through a public records request a few years back

Washington Democrats were forced to change the law so people wouldn’t vote twice in the same election. They cited one case. So why can’t Patty Murray accept basic protections against illegal voting? Because they think those votes benefit them. More: seattlered.com/seattle-red/ja…

The average person is more likely to be struck by lightning than they are to commit voter fraud. Seriously. That's a real stat. I'm voting NO on the SAVE America Act.

@WAGOP State election officials have known for years that non-citizens have been registering to vote. Here’s a document I got through a public records request several years ago when I lived in King County. Keep up the good work!

“IP26-500, our NEW Voter ID Initiative, requires proof of citizenship when people register to vote in WA state. It’s a good reform that will ensure we keep our voter data bases timely, updated, and current so people can trust the ballots going out go to actual living, breathing voters,” explains @WAGOP Chairman Rep. @JimWalshLD19. “Here’s what it doesn’t do. It does NOT disenfranchise people of certain groups. Instead, it relies on existing state law that enfranchises all legal voters.” Visit initiatives.wagop.org to stay current on initiatives in WA state.

@WAGOP @JimWalshLD19 That is too generous to Kent, who is not only a tin-foil hat anti-Semite conspiracy theorist, but was also apparently under investigation for leaking classified information.

"You don't have to agree with Joe Kent to respect his position as a decorated soldier and an elite member of the US Army Special Forces," says @WAGOP Chairman Rep. @JimWalshLD19, following Kent's resignation as the director of the National Counterterrorism Center. "I respect his position on national security issues and America's actions in Iran, but I don't agree with him. I believe @POTUS is right in doing what he is doing in Iran. No one wants to see a forever war. No one wants to see another Vietnam. And we don't want to see another Iraq. Still, I believe the president is acting on the best information available to him, and that he is operating in the nation's best interest."

Mail-in voting is a win for everyone – Republicans, Independents, and Democrats. The so-called “SAVE America Act” would do the opposite: make it harder to vote and end universal mail-in voting. NO on the SAVE America Act.

69 acres of private Tuscany for €690k ($797k). The land includes an olive grove, a fruit orchard, a cork oak grove and 20 hectares of woodland. A natural spring produces 3,000 litres of water a day, solar panels cover the electricity and yes, it does have wifi. It's also been renovated, 370m² (3,983 sq ft) across 3 floors, 3 beds, 3 baths, with a pool and a sauna. 50 km to Volterra. Off-grid, self-sufficient, sauna, pool..what's missing here?

I just watched the 2 hour interview with @TuckerCarlson of @joekent16jan19. Here's my take away from it. @POTUS should call Joe and beg him to come back as THE Senior adviser to the President on the middle east with an office right next to the Oval. Full Stop.

The dam is busting holes. And today, a big one. The first important, high-profile Trump administration resignation. And it’s from his Director of the National Counterterrorism Center. Green Beret vet and Gold Star husband, Joe Kent. And here’s his statement. And, also important to note. Kent blames israel. And has had a questionable history of association with far right groups and promoting racial and Islamophobic bigotry and conspiracy theories. But, it’s still a very high-profile member of his national security team that’s out in a very public way. Over Iran. American wars don’t get more popular over time. And this one is historically low and dropping like a rock. With all political groups. And especially in Trump’s base. But the question is—does it matter? Does he care? Unlikely. He’s all gas and no brakes and not slowing down for anything or anyone. But this one could be the first of others. And the start of a wave of shake ups inside Trump’s team. As we continue to get less safe by the day.🚨🇺🇸 🎙️I’ll have more later today on a new Independent Americans: GoIndy.us
Joe Kent@joekent16jan19

After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today. I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby. It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC. May God bless America.

Iran’s top security official Ali Larijani bridged the country’s hard-line military elements & more moderate political factions. Israel’s killing of him could open the way for the military to tighten its grip, giving Israel an excuse to keep the war going. trib.al/Q9xyN2u
