If I didn't know better, I would suggest that the South African @GovernmentZA is actively doing everything in its power to foment a civil war in our country. Diesel going up by 20% is absolutely outrageous. Our fuel is taxed in excess of 30% on every liter. @CyrilRamaphosa could offset those levies if he truly cared about the people of this nation. He doesn't. How does the @MYANC imagine ANYONE being able to weather a 20% increase in the cost of living? The price of fuel has a bearing on EVERYTHING. Food. Transports. Goods. All of it is affected. ... and don't tell me that this is all due to the Iran conflict. We get most of our oil from places like Angola and Nigeria. Why, then, are we being punished like this at the pump? To all my American followers: after Wednesday, South Africans will be paying the equivalent of $9/gallon for diesel.
Newzroom Afrika@Newzroom405

[BREAKING NEWS] Fuel prices will increase on 6 May. Diesel will go up by R6.19 per litre, while petrol will increase by R3.27 per litre. #Newzroom405

@conservativjake @dragodimitrov @metathomist Not really. Angels delivering messages in Scripture isn’t the same as claiming priesthood authority disappeared for 1800 years and had to be restored by new angelic ordination. That’s a much stronger claim, and it needs stronger support. The Old and New Testaments are sufficient.

@redeemed_zoomer Strict religious groups have been shown to thrive by requiring high commitment, which filters out free-riders and strengthens shared identity. Permissive churches often see lower engagement because low barriers to entry can dilute a group’s sense of purpose and solidarity.

Liberal denominations live in denial of the obvious fact that the sharp decline of their churches is due to liberalism. Not all denominations that are declining are liberal, but all liberal denominations are declining. It is common sense that if you do not preach any objective metaphysical truth claims, nobody will see any reason to go to church

@TheGermanicist @Rebel4YHWH76 I belive Abraham gave a tithe out of gratefulness and we are free to do the same. He wasn't under the covenant and didn't give as a legal requirement. Either way, not very kind to assume someone doesn't know the bible when they might just have different views on it.

@Rebel4YHWH76 The law of tithing wasn’t fulfilled in Christ. Abraham, who wasn’t under the law of Moses, paid tithing. I thought you people knew the Bible better than us? Guess not.

To those supposed “Christians” who claim The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (“the Mormons”) does not follow the Bible, then how do you explain my faithful following of the law of tithing as contained in Malachi and the financial windfall I just received of which I was desperately in need?

No...I will say what I want when I want. I don't take orders from genocidal maniacs, and I'm most definitely not afraid of you. "Filthy " is your violent supremacist ideology. "Filth" are your rapist, murderous soldiers, and ANYONE and EVERYONE who cheers them on. Your "order" is emblematic of the entire foundation of Zionism. The Rabbi can malign the Pope. Your soldiers can desecrate other religions and their sacred symbols, they can bomb places of worship but we must respect your religion and its representatives? You are delusional. It is not going to happen.

Source of Suspicion: Analytics firm Bubblemaps identified that two Polymarket accounts, both connected to the same cryptocurrency wallet, had an perfect track record regarding the pardons, NPR reports. The Trades: The trader made bets in the final hours of the term, with a previous bet regarding a Hunter Biden pardon made a month prior, NPR notes. Expert Opinion: Columbia Law School's Joshua Mitts, who advises on insider trading cases, stated the odds of this happening by random chance are "virtually zero," suggesting a White House insider or someone with access to confidential government information, WUNC reports. Investigation Difficulty: Identifying the individual is challenging as cryptocurrency exchanges like Kraken do not easily release account information, KUOW reports. Instagram Instagram +3 Broader Context Investigation: The House Oversight Committee has been investigating the Biden family regarding foreign business dealings since 2023, according to Wikipedia.

@BBCWorld After 18 months people coming up with all of these anti-Trump angles must be exhausted. It will only be a day or two before this is tossed onto the @TheDemocrats heap of distractions and one gets hit in the head by an acorn, then they can claim The Donald is making the sky fall.

BREAKING: In a direct message to the Trump administration and the US Navy, China's Defense Minister Admiral Dong Jun says Chinese ships will continue transiting the Strait of Hormuz through agreements with Iran, and warns the US not to "meddle in our affairs." Also from Dong's statement: 1. Says Chinese ships are currently "moving in and out of the waters of the Strait of Hormuz" 2. Confirms China has existing "trade and energy agreements with Iran" that China will "respect and honor" 3. Explicitly states: "Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz and it is open for us," recognizing Iranian sovereignty over transit

@LeboChampu @AndyPhylany Property equity is less liquid than cash. Also, the S&P 500 has not averaged 20% a year over 40 years; long-run total return is closer to about 10%. So liquidity is a preference, not proof that renting builds more wealth.. Especially if you buy in a good spot.

@S_Man107 @AndyPhylany Your house can be valued at 3M but it doesnt mean youll find someone to pay R3Ms. the maintenance costs needed to keep it at that value will also be a major factor. s&p500 has had an average of 20% growth for the past 40 years. calculate how much you could make.

@LeboChampu @AndyPhylany If you prefer more liquid equity over having more wealth tied up in property, that’s fair. But you’d still likely end up with more total value in property at the end, so it’s not automatically the better wealth-building strategy for everyone

@LeboChampu @AndyPhylany I included rates, insurance, maintenance/levies growing over time, and once rent goes above ownership cost I used the extra to pay off the bond faster. On a 20-year view, starting from R0: Renter ends with about R1.1m Buyer ends with about R3.25m
