We are in the middle of a Customer Service crisis.
Many companies continue to spend less and less in this area and view it as trivial. They're reducing headcount, increasing hold times, enforcing stingier refund policies, training their agents poorly, resorting to bots, and pretty much doing EVERYTHING in their power to save themselves as much money as possible at the expense of their users' time, money and sanity.
Well you know what?
It's time to take a stand.
This year, I encourage all of you to FIGHT for that refund or other compensation that you are owed. It's your hard-earned money and you should have it, not some careless entity that gave you terrible service.
Demand to speak to a Supervisor until an agent complies, even if they insist that it won't do anything.
Dispute charges with your credit or debit card.
Report companies to the Better Business Bureau and publicize their negligence on social media and Trustpilot.
Threaten to switch to a competitor and actually do it if you have to. If a business doesn't care about you, then they don't deserve your business.
And if the dollar amount that you are owed is substantial, take the company to Small Claims Court. It's easy to open a case and you can represent yourself.
These companies are relying on all of us to concede defeat and stomach the loss. And they're hoping that this status quo never changes.
Well screw that.
Let's change it. 🙌

@weast_street @JetBlue Sums up the airline industry pretty well. Sorry that you had to deal with this.
English

hi @JetBlue i know you're just trying to save money on jet fuel but it's insane to bump me off an international flight i booked 4 months ago 1 day before! no vouchers, no nothing. absolutely absurd.
English

@bchesky If "all style, no substance" was a company...
Your users are begging you to fix your Customer Service Brian but keep putting out fancy design clips.
English

@YouTubeCreators "...except when we ban your accounts and use AI for customer service and keep you in a holding loop forever. "

@nytimes Good! One less terrible customer service department to deal with.

Breaking News: Spirit Airlines is preparing to shut down after failing to strike a deal for a financial lifeline from the Trump administration, two people familiar with the matter said. nyti.ms/4uk0KS5

@ewarren Yes, oligopolies are far from optimal, especially when you let them do whatever the hell they want.
Please start holding them accountable.
English

@RickAllenracing @AmericanAir "Terrible Customer Service" is their middle name!
Sorry for your troubles here Rick.
English

Well @AmericanAir you have just done something that is completely unacceptable. I paid for a 1st class seat and you just moved me to a center seat in row 13 because you downsized your plane. Thanks for your terrible customer service!!!
English

I have never been treated more rudely than I was just now by @SouthwestAir I’m shaking. My band and crew have flown this airline for a long time. I’m afraid it’s time to switch. Maybe someone was having a bad morning, so I want to extend grace. But my goodness! That was crazy!
English

@Dan_Wessling @matthew_west @SouthwestAir What an odd thought that you shouldn't get decent service just because you paid a little less.
This kind of mentality normalizes it and it's dangerous.
English

@matthew_west @SouthwestAir you must go to mcdonald’s and complain about the hamburgers not being gourmet.
English

@matthew_west @SouthwestAir Sorry to hear this Matthew! Unfortunately it's becoming all too common with Southwest these days.
If it was one or two very rude employees I would definitely file a complaint about them.
English

@Ticketmaster @Harry_Styles Oh you're pretending to have a soul now. That's cute.
No one's fooled.

@SenWarren Hate to break it to you Senator but this airline did itself in.

Donald Trump’s war with Iran caused the sky-high fuel prices that finally did Spirit Airlines in.
What do the American people get out of this taxpayer bailout?
Will the failed airline executives be held accountable?
The Wall Street Journal@WSJ
Exclusive: The Trump administration is nearing a rescue deal for Spirit Airlines that would loan the discount carrier as much as $500 million. on.wsj.com/4cspZM0
English

@DesireeAmerica4 The massive oligopoly already has taken over. Doesn't matter if Spirit is here or not, they'll continue to play by their own rules and screw over customers left and right.
English

Spirit Airlines just handed taxpayers a $500 million ransom note.
The threat is simple: let us die, and the massive monopolies take over. Your cheap weekend flight vanishes, replaced by higher ticket prices ect...
But if the government cuts the check, we aren't rescuing an airline. We’re financing a company that has already bankrupted itself twice. They figured out how to use their own failure as leverage against the American public.
If you run out of money, you lose your house. If an airline runs out of money, the taxpayers buy them a new one.
English

Spirit Airlines is close to getting a $500 million bailout from the federal government, according to a source familiar with the negotiations. cnn.it/4mN315J

@Ryanair Ryanair customer service vs. the person receiving it
English

Let's just get something straight here.
Spirit Airlines isn't failing because of macroeconomic conditions and oil prices.
It's failing because the company has been run very poorly with bad customer service for decades.
Should they really be bailed out for that behavior?
Brian Schwartz@schwartzbWSJ
SCOOP: The Trump administration and Spirit Airlines are nearing a deal where the U.S. government would put up to $500 million into Spirit Airlines stock warrants to try to save the company, leading to a potential significant stake in the company.
