I think another compelling perspective is to think about the problem you want to solve. And the most important thing is that it can really take time to land on the right niche

@rezzz @jcasabona @Sara11D I feel like there are two approaches - pick a horizontal and/or vertical that you’ve already worked in and liked. Or pick one you haven’t worked in and test it out. Maybe I’m just still doing the second.

@Sara11D @mikehale It’s not for everyone but… I switched it off after 10 minutes the first time. Then tried again based on all the praise, 30m. Then tried a third time and made it into the 2nd episode and was totally hooked.

Let’s go ahead and add Squid Game to the list of TV shows I won’t watch.

@tejones @JoelKlettke Just the SEO, not the design/dev. And seriously @JoelKlettke, this is so common. Told a wedding planner last week that I wouldn’t even take on her project if she wasn’t willing to increase her body font size from 13px.

Auditing a website in the weddings space, and looking at competitors. I haven't squint this much in decades. It's like I got lemon in my eyes. Ultralight cursive fonts. Teeny-tiny print. Gray-on-white. Why do you do this, wedding people

@cdils @riotmaam For me, it got to a point of that it was super rare that I would need to edit a file in InDesign or Illustrator. I mostly used Photoshop. So I downgraded to the Photography plan and had a couple of my InDesign files re-created in Canva.

@riotmaam @Sara11D NICE. Adobe CC is one of my biggest software expenditures, but I've resisted moving due to the learning curve of something new... Also, this is probably karma for all of my early years when I "borrowed" license keys for Adobe products...

Business owners, what are your top tips for reducing overall spend in a way that doesn't compromise product/service quality?

@cdils I’m on QB online “Simple Start” $25/mo. I was on $70/mo “Plus.” Realized I didn’t really need to track project profitability or track time.

@Sara11D Great example! Curious which QB plan you have? I looked at downgrading a few years ago and it was literally a "you can't take your data with you" which was absurd.
