Public awareness around solar energy adoption is steadily increasing across Cuttack district under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. TPCODL is actively promoting the installation of rooftop solar systems under the scheme, making clean energy solutions simpler, more affordable and convenient for households. As part of this outreach initiative, village-level awareness meetings are being organised across different parts of Cuttack district to educate consumers about the benefits of rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. Recently, an awareness meeting was conducted at Jagannathpur village under Nishchintakoili Fagol Gram Panchayat. During the meeting, residents were informed about the simple process of installing rooftop solar panels under the scheme. Strengthening Odisha’s clean energy future requires not only robust infrastructure, but also a skilled workforce prepared for emerging energy opportunities. In line with this vision, Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI) has established five Green Energy Skills Centres across Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Sambalpur, and Berhampur to support technical skilling in areas such as rooftop solar, electrical systems, safety, and field operations. To date, nearly 3,000 youth and technical personnel have been trained under various technical, vocational, and solar skilling initiatives across Odisha. With the growing momentum of initiatives like PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and ULA, the demand for trained solar technicians and field personnel continues to rise across the state. I was entrusted by the PCC President to convene a Press Conference at Nayagarh. At today’s press conference, we strongly condemned the BJP government for delaying the implementation of the Women’s Reservation law which was passed in 2023 and signed by the President .
