Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi. Dr.@PrabodhTrivedi, Mission Director of the CSIR-Aroma Mission, received the award on behalf of the team. The award recognizes the mission’s transformative role in strengthening India’s aromatic crops sector through scientific innovation, farmer-centric technologies, and sustainable livelihood generation through consistent technical support. India’s menthol economy stands at a pivotal crossroads. As one of the world’s leading producers of natural menthol, the country is home to over half a million small and marginal farmers who depend on mentha cultivation for their livelihoods. However, the rapid rise of synthetic menthol presents both opportunities and challenges. @PahleIndia's study, "Assessing the Value Chain of Menthol Economy: Understanding the Dynamics of Co-existence of Natural and Synthetic Menthol," explores whether the two forms of menthol production can sustainably co-exist or if an inevitable shift looms ahead. Under the @CsirAroma, @CSIRCIMAP developed menthol mint cluster along the Zero Line Indo-Pak border. CSIR-CIMAP now plans to establish vetiver cultivation cluster along banks of the Sutlej River near the Zero Line. Scientists visited site & planned activities. @CSIR_IND
