I'm going to leave this pinned here with regards to $STRC: My original thesis for buying a long put position on STRC in early June was that the options market was only pricing in the "money market-like" low volatility that Strategy was marketing STRC to have, and I believed that the market would eventually demonstrate that there would be high volatility in such a high yielding instrument. To me, since STRC has already been as low as ~28% below par intraday, that thesis has been shown to be true. Once the volatility came, I sold to close a portion of my long put position and that covered the cost of my entire position plus a 33% profit, so now I have zero downside and the worst case is I make a 33% profit on the trade, while still maintaining exposure to potentially more profit if STRC experiences more volatility between now and December of this year. As of today, Strategy filed a new 8-K outlining their new ways of supporting STRC to trade "over time" in a range of $99 to $100. STRC rallied over 12% higher on the news. I don't know the future, and I could be wrong... but I am still skeptical that one can get stock market like returns from an instrument designed to have low volatility, as Saylor described it on @CNBC as something "meant to be like a money market". Since Strategy played a new hand with the 8-K, I'm going to step away from my daily following of STRC, and wait. I've got an alert on my phone to tell me if STRC falls below $80 again, and if it does, I'll pop back in. This has been a lot of fun. I haven't really gotten into the weeds of analyzing individual investments in a long time, since back in college when I led a group of fellow undergrads to the finals in the Philadelphia region of the CFA Institute's Global Investment Research Challenge. My life has led me away from equity research since then (and into the entertainment industry), but this reminded me of how much I enjoy it. In addition, I'd like to thank 2 people who have given me hope that people can very passionately feel differently about something and still be able to communicate (on social media of all places!) in a civil and open way. That's @monster_models and Michael at @betirement . Thank you to both of you for that, and regardless of how we feel about STRC, I wish you the absolute best and hope that in the long run this works out incredibly well for you both. I'll still be here, but just not focused on STRC unless I get the below $80 price notification. I wish everyone in the STRC space well! :) Disclosure: I hold a long put position on STRC

Until further notice, every day that you barely hear from me is a day that I am pouring my energy into one thing — and one thing only — aside from survival, health, and relationships. And for those wondering: development is proceeding smoothly, ahead of my original expectations on multiple fronts. I'm rapidly approaching the last major technical risk point, beyond which I will know whether the project, as originally envisioned, will succeed or fail. Proving my work, for #Bitcoin and @Strategy. ✨ Thank you all for your support. 🧡 #MonsterModelFramework $MSTR $STRC

I appreciate the nuance here on the divisions, both between the patriots, neutrals and loyalists, and even amongst the patriots. I also think of Hannah Griffits, who was a staunch supporter of American resistance to the British in the years prior to the Revolution, but wanted a negotiated solution and not complete independence. I love history because there's always some new nuance and some new angle to learn. Fascinating stuff.

3/ Myth 2: They unanimously supported the Revolutionary War. Even on July 1, 1776, John Dickinson argued against independence, hoping for reconciliation. New York’s delegation abstained. Only 45% of colonists actively supported the war. Deep divisions existed even among the patriots.

250 years and 2 days ago, the 2nd Continental Congress passed the resolution that formally broke ties between the colonies and Great Britain, it was called the Lee Resolution. Yep, it was on July 2, 1776. The text of the Declaration of Independence was approved 250 years ago today (July 4, 1776), but the actual vote for independence had already happened. Interestingly, John Adams wrote to his wife Abigail that he predicted July 2 would be celebrated for generations to come, since that was the actual date that the formal independence resolution was approved. But the Lee Resolution was more like a legal text (John Adams probably liked it because he was a lawyer), and the Declaration of Independence was written with Thomas Jefferson's lofty language that inspired the public, so July 4 became "Independence Day", and not July 2 as John Adams predicted. 50 years later, (200 years ago today), both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson would pass away on the same day, exactly 50 years after the formal approval of the text of the Declaration. #america250 #JulyFourth #independenceday #4thJuly

Per MSTR SEC Filing Risk Factors Section: "Bitcoin has no physical existence beyond the record of transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain. 'Right now it's touching 500 million people - there's no reason it can't touch 5 billion people.' His company owns nearly 850,000 Bitcoins worth tens of billions of dollars - with the price of the coins dropping by nearly 50% in just one year we spoke to Michael Saylor at the Las Vegas Bitcoin conference and asked him why people should place a bet on the crypto future.

I'm sorry that this happened, Blake. When Saylor went onto @CNBC a few months back and said that STRC was "meant to be like a money market", I personally think that that misled a lot of people into thinking this was intended for short term money. Others may see it differently, but that's how I see it. Here's his interview on CNBC: x.com/saylor/status/… He even quotes "Am I offending you if I call it a money market fund" in his own post, which to me further solidified the messaging implying low volatility and a place to park short term cash. To me, even if it does eventually return to par, the fact that it dipped nearly 30% at all after they marketed STRC as a way to "Save Different" and "money market-like"... I personally think their marketing was unethical at the very least. Others may see that differently, and that's fine, I can only call it like I see it. Disclosure: I hold a long put position on STRC

@Cicirunner @saylor I bought what I was sold. This is not supposed to be an instrument for massive capital gains. This was sold as a stable high yield savings account. I have 95% of my money in equities. The money I put in STRC was for high yield savings for a few months that I now need access to.

"Worldly wisdom teaches that it is better for reputation to fail conventionally than to succeed unconventionally." - John Maynard Keynes I see this as a benefit of being a retail investor. Unconventional asymmetric bets that work in the long run for the retail investor may end up getting the institutional portfolio manager fired before the thesis plays out, since clients may pull their money based on short term underperformance.

There's benefits to not being world famous. I heard a story before about Justin Timberlake, and how in order for him to have a normal dinner at a restaurant, he would have to pay to buy out the whole restaurant for the night (for thousands of $$$) so he wouldn't be swamped by fans. We non-world-famous people just pay for our meals and eat in relative anonymity at no extra charge. Being a regular person sure has its cost-saving benefits.
