@GovMurphy your decision to apply punitive fees to EV drivers in this budget is a disgrace. Why should EV drivers pay 2-3X the amount than a gasoline powered vehicle? This isn't even a phase in like the sales tax (un) exemption. Let us pay per year even on new cars.
English

@GovMurphy I cannot tell you how disappointed I am in your decision to increase EV registration. Many many drivers of EV's do not drive excessively, this new "fee" simply results in yet another tax on the middle class. Poor policy for a supposed forward thinking Administration.

@AutoPap Volvo if only for the seats (ok and for what I think is a gorgeous design inside and out).
Friends kids picked up an A4 Allroad here in the states. They complain about the seats constantly for being uncomfortable.

@addict_car Biddy had a manual sedan. I marvelled at how the interior was exactly the same as our 99 GLX. It wasn't particularly quick off the line or nimble but smooth and pulled like a freight train at speed.

While VW's Passat had edged upmarket over the generations, few could have predicted the arrival in 2001 of the flagship W8, with its unique 4.0-litre engine in the existing B5 body. It was a toe in the water ahead of the coming W12 unit and the Phaeton. #carbrochure #Volkswagen

@HenryCesari @CIANO_tico To be fair my V60 CC isn't nearly as jacked as an Outback.
Now even Benz jumped.in the game with its E450CC whatever it is.
English

@CIANO_tico Seriously! Volvo throws a lift kit on its wagons to sell them here...
😭

@rpcottam9 @motormobilias @wheelerdealers They say "production" since, thanks to Saab APC, was drivable every day. The Jetfire/Corvairs were out in 62, others were 74-75 so ahead of Saab but didn't drive well or were prohibitively expensive. Saab would build as many as people wanted, for reasonable cost.
English

@motormobilias @wheelerdealers Thank you. I had my doubts genuinely. But never thought to question it. Could have misheard their explanation though. So apologies if I did. Thanks for info!

Saab were an early adopter of turbo technology and the 99 Turbo model tested here by Motor in 1980 became very popular. I know it will be the choice of many here but I am going for the rear drive, six cylinder E21 323i. What is your choice? #classiccars

@The_DrivewayC @SpeedSportLife Our Kia leasing experience that past summer was 1 hour. Yes, we drove out in one hour including a trade. No BS and their initial offer was less than what I had in mind.
English

@SpeedSportLife Maybe a disruptive opinion - but the $62k Lexus TX gives buyers an upscale compelling option too.
I think Kia wins on technology, but the TX is Lexus through and through.
Much nicer dealership experience .
If Kia markups disappear, it's a bigger $ difference

@the_autopian I had an 86. An XT GL-10 4X4 Turbo manual. Air suspension. Put 1000 miles a week on it. Traded it in on an Impreza. After which I had TWO SVX's
English

@CactusCat236 @ChrisJBakke I get quite a bit of "Let's bifurcate this".
English

"With all due respect" = You don't deserve any respect
"I don't have the bandwidth" = I have no idea what I'm doing/no clue what's going on
"Reach out" = Don't contact me
"At the end of the day" = We all know what I say next is a lie
"Get the ball rolling" = this should have been done 3 months ago
"Dive deeper"= You weren't even close
"Drill down" = do you even know why you work here?
English

Navigating "corporate speak" isn't easy.
Here's a helpful guide I put together:
"Let me check with my team" = No
"Possibly" = No
"On my roadmap" = Not happening
"This will be done in Q4" = This will be done in Q2 next year
"Disagree and commit" = I hate you
"Per my last email" = Try reading, for once in your life
"Challenging landscape" = We're going out of business, quickly
"Digital transformation" = We're going out of business, slowly
"Let's circle back" = We'll never speak of this again
"Take it offline" = We'll never speak of this again
"30,000 foot view" = I don't know what I'm saying
"Low hanging fruit" = Easy promotion
"Open up the kimono" = HR violation
"We use AI" = We don't use AI
"We use machine learning" = We don't use machine learning
"All hands on deck" = Let's actually try for once, please

@DarraghMcKenna Just saw one today on my commute. Still looks fresh today - which can't be said for most other sedans of the time.
English

@JapaneseIcons My mom had one back in the mid 80's. It needed a clutch, so a friend installed a Sachs heavy duty unit. Then the carb went, so it got a Weber.

It’s high time for a #SubaruSunday. Here’s the super rare DL Coupé from 1977. When did you last see one?

@hjwakerley BMW knows how to do luxury really really well. I'd even think maybe better than "sport".
English

@RoadworkUK 50 years ago they thought about shedding snow and ice from lenses.
Here we are today, with LED bulbs that never get hot, and lenses get iced over.
Brilliant!
English

@JWRIII Mom had one. Probably one of the best back seats ever.
English

@notcapnamerica I dunno... I put the crock part right in covered with plastic wrap. Time to reheat? Put it straight back into the crockpot on high for two hours.
English

This is what’s called weaponized incompetence, friends.
Clare Zim, MD@ClareZimMD
Told my husband to put the soup in the fridge and he put the entire crockpot in there. 😳🤷🏼♀️
English

@Mike_M_Klotz No more than a quarter of. I always take a picture of the gauge too. Keeps down the "you didn't put gas in it" shenanigans
