Hi Alfie. Can you keep this anon please and post out for advice... I am getting married next weekend and I left the army 12 months ago. I served a total of 16 years and originally planned to marry whilst serving, so I had my blues tailored and ready to wear on the day. I don't know if I feel easy wearing these now that I am no longer serving. What would you guys suggest? Wear it... or not wear it? Thank you.

@SeanJonesMC I agree with all of that mate. The whole thing has come about because treasury put MoD under pressure to tax what they were interpreting as benefits. MoD should have done a much better job of preventing this whole nonsense

Lots of posts regarding army accommodation models, I haven’t read lots I must admit but what I believe is the following (point 2 likely unpopular) 1. Standard of accommodation and maintenance needs to improve across the board no rank should have sub standard accommodation

We must remember that yes the army should fight as one and have fair and quality accommodation but this argument of officers vs OR’s is a nonsense, there 100% should be separation between. It doesn’t mean they’re valued any less

3. The only caveat to the above is that an OR with a large family and that needs a larger house must be moved regardless of who is next door

It never ceases to amaze me that Daniel Kawczynski MP the local MP for Shrewsbury is never EVER anywhere to be seen, he doesn’t engage with most demographics of the area in person or on social media what he does is a mystery, perhaps I should throw my hat in 🤔 where to start 🤔

@DHLParcelUK Your drivers lie about attending deliveries and post pictures that are covered by hands as proof! I was in for a delivery and they didn’t turn up! The next day they attended I chose deliver to a neighbour and they didn’t! Your service is terrible and I still don’t have parcel!

But after 5 years of frustration and legal action it’s all over and not only was it a very positive outcome for me and my family I had an apology from the MOD and can hold my head high knowing that I never turned my back on anyone.

Many didn’t understand what happened when I dropped off the face of the earth when I posted away from my battalion and was subsequently medically discharged, many made assumptions nobody asked!

Evening pal, I was wondering if you can help me in anyway. I’m currently in MOD accommodation at Worthy Down and have complained about not having adequate heating in my home since May 2023 and raised this with Pinnacle early on before winter arrived so they have time to rectify this as my partner is pregnant and I’ll need heating in my home for the later stages of her pregnancy and when our first baby arrives, I have rang pinnacle weekly for updates for when this will be rectified and have been mugged off every time saying “we will send it to the district manager” and nothing gets done. We’ve had 3 engineers from Vivo who have come out (all have no clue what jobs need doing when arrive) and have all confirmed that we need more radiators for our home but one after another they send one out who don’t know what they are doing upon arrival. It’s now December and My partner is now nearly 9 months pregnant and I can see my own breath in my living room in the mornings, even when we have heating on through the night. When I went to welfare and have asked them to get involved and they contacted pinnacle and they at pinnacle said and I quote “you have some heat upstairs so you’ll have to live up there” It’s also now creating mould and damp Into my home which is also not safe. It’s unbelievable, my baby is due anytime now and I live in a small 2 bed house which is cold, damp and has mould growing but DIO, Pinnacle and Vivo are sat doing nothing to help. If you could post this and see if I can get a response from anyone who has ties with people to can help or give advice I’d truly appreciate it.

Words absolutely fail me for everything going on in this! This is why the infantry should carry out ALL basic military tactics training!
