Delighted to have a poster presentation on Ireland’s response to mpox @isstdr World Congress of STIs & HIV in Chicago. I highlight the success of the community-led, collaborative and multi-phased approach we took. Check it out at stand 222 #STIHIV2023 @HIVIreland

As a postdoc, I spend 70% of my income on rent alone. I am often not able to afford clothes and groceries without putting more on my credit card. I do not know what is going to happen with student loans kick back into repayment. Postdocs are struggling in CA. @UAW5810

Did you know that the syphilis-causing bacterium Treponema pallidum encodes miniproteins that have anti-bacterial activity? Have a look at this freshly published study led by our neighbours the Cameron lab! frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

With a few strokes of a pen 40 years ago today, Canada’s Charter of Rights and Freedoms was adopted. Built around our shared values of equality, justice, and freedom, it protects the rights and freedoms that define who we are as Canadians – and brings us closer as a country.

Thread: The phrase 'sworn police officer' means sworn to uphold the law. Deliberate undermining of the #RuleOfLaw by sworn @CalgaryPolice officers must be swiftly and harshly shut down. This has nothing to do with what the #ThinBlueLine does or does not represent #yyc /1
Global Calgary@GlobalCalgary

Calgary police officers continue to wear thin blue line patches on their uniforms, in defiance of an order to stop wearing them. Some officers say they wear it to honour fallen members, but for others it signifies something more nefarious.

We have a basement suite in our home here in Kelowna that we rent out. It's neat, tidy, and affordable (about 30% below avg). Our tenant is moving out May 1st, so I posted an ad. The response has been overwhelming, and kinda troubling...
