@JeffCassman All SSPX priests are currently suspended and all laity who formally adhere to SSPX are currently excommunicated. You need to keep lying to them so they won’t leave.

Unfortunate, this SSPX response is reminiscent of the Novatianist and or Donatist heresies. Certainly, all the things outlined (e.g., the blessing, Fiducia Supplicans, Pachamama) are terrible things. But even an unworthy pope's excommunications can be valid nonetheless

BREAKING: SSPX responds to Vatican: “Excommunicated? But by Whom? By Those Who Receive the Blessing of a Schismatic Woman Bishop, Authorize Fiducia Supplicans, and Kneel Before Pachamama?”

This is an act of schism. The SSPX will continue to due as they please. They choose what they want to accept or reject. They are the judge of what needs to be obeyed or disobeyed. They are the superiors of the Holy See. Lefebvrism is liberal Catholicism.
AF Post@AFpost

SSPX Superior General Don Davide Pagliarani said members of the SSPX would “rather die than renounce” their Catholic faith, as planned episcopal consecrations are set to move forward without a papal mandate. Follow: @AFpost

@Robkearney1981 @CatholicSat Will include cleaners, delivery drivers, cooks, everyone and anyone who steps foot onto an SSPX premise. It will include even those who visit their website after July 1st. You can’t say that you haven't been warned.

@CatholicSat Will this excommunication apply only to the bishops, the entire SSPX clergy, or even all who attend their masses?

Vatican releases a declaration stating that the SSPX bishops will be excommunicated if they proceed with the Episcopal Consecrations planned for July 1st: “The episcopal ordinations announced by the Society of Saint Pius X do not have the corresponding pontifical mandate. This gesture will constitute "a schismatic act", and "formal adherence to the schism constitutes a grave offense against God and entails the excommunication established by Church law" press.vatican.va/content/salast…

@peregasolinus @DrKwasniewski Name one example of a Saint, just one please, that did anything close to what the SSPX is doing or did....it doesnt exist. However, every other Saint in history has dealt with a previous crisis inside the structure, authority and discipline of the Church.

Read this article by Darrick Taylor, the most effective piece I've yet seen for dispelling the false optimism that can't take seriously the SSPX's argument about the "state of emergency" (or "state of necessity"). crisismagazine.com/opinion/waitin…

@thepopecast Detrimental? The man was passed over for the episcopacy, and so decided to go to Rome asking to be laicised. They showered him with support and resources, and a leadership role if he would hound the SSPX wherever they went and make trouble for them. Hardly detrimental.

THIS MAN, not Archbishop Lefebvre, is a hero for breaking from the SSPX when it undoubtedly was detrimental to him in the near term. The FSSP has its own problems, to be sure, but obedience and homage to Peter is always the right answer.
Submit to Rome 🐸🇻🇦@pepevatican

@peregasolinus @NiwaLimbu1988 since when was the post conciliar Church interested in the truth or justice? They have clearly shown for the last 60+ years they care little about the salvation of souls, instead they promote false unity with heretics and schismatics.

@NiwaLimbu1988 On what basis would a cleric in Orders who is a member of the SSPX be in schism post-July 2? What crime would he have committed on July 2 by doing the same actions and having the same membership and associations he did on June 30? A valid penalty requires an imputable crime.

SSPX UPDATE 37: Clarification When I refer to the “whole SSPX,” this means the Society’s members: its priests, bishops, and clerics in holy orders. Lay faithful who attend SSPX chapels are not members of the SSPX. The DDF’s prepared declaration is not expected to excommunicate the lay faithful. It would formally declare the SSPX clerics (priests, bishops, and Society members in holy orders) to be in schism via an official document. My sources have indicated that such a formal declaration of schism targeting the clerics is likely and the lay faithful are explicitly not the target.
Niwa Limbu@NiwaLimbu1988

SSPX UPDATE 37: EXCLUSIVE - This is certainly not true, my sources report that the DDF is preparing the possibility of an excommunication of the whole SSPX not only the Bishops. @nicospuntoni , top Vatican correspondent also confirms this with me, he tells myself “As far as I know, the Dicastero for the Doctrine of the Faith is already prepared for the possibility of excommunicating the SSPX following the ordinations” More to come with @RealAdVaticanum this coming Monday TL:DR The Dicastery for he Doctrine of the Faith is already prepared for the possibility of excommunicating the SSPX

@Matt62241643 @JeffCassman I see. that would explain your legalistic mindet. Salza, is a tax lawyer who has no Church authority or hasn’t been appointed by an ecclesial commission. a former 32 degree Freemason, he falsely accused Abp Lefebvre of heresy in a video and when confronted backtracked & lied.
