The mainstream media have bought the Islamic Republic’s official narrative that everything has now calmed down inside Iran. The regime have cut ❌ the internet 🛜 and will keep it cut while they continue to clear up bodies from the streets.
We may never know how many were killed. All we know was that there was a massacre and everything is now shut down, shops, schools, offices, universities. All we see is voices shouting their protest from balconies (see video) even though the IRGC have been shooting at windows and smashing into houses to kill protesters.
The time now is for decisive diplomatic action by all countries to put the IRGC on the terrorist list. Devoid of international legitimacy, most countries will then distance themselves. Isolated, the regime will then quickly collapse.
Italy, Spain and France are blocking this action in the European Union, seemingly due to financial entrenchment with this tyrannical regime. Ditto the UK despite @Keir_Starmer saying “the contrast between the courage of the Iranian people and the brutality of their desperate regime has never been clearer.”
Good words. But meaningless without action. Because inaction now comes at the cost of tens of thousands of lives.
