Generals know SFA about economics or trade. 1. The USA controls about 50% of global crude oil reserves, LNG, and refining capacity. It can stop Iran selling oil. 2. Iran needs to import about a third of its food and most industrial products. The USA can stop that. There is no need whatsoever for a military invasion or using nukes. Just switch off their electricity, their food, their revenues, and watch the Iranian people take over.

A former NATO commander just said the quiet part out loud. Trump is trapped. The military logic of this war has collapsed into a binary no one in Washington wants to say clearly: either launch a ground invasion of Iran – a country of 90 million people, mountainous terrain, and three decades of asymmetric warfare doctrine – or declare victory over rubble and go home. Neither is winning. One is catastrophe. The other is theatre. The Strait of Hormuz is still contested. Iranian proxies are still operational. @Microinteracti1 What was promised was to severely degrade Irans defense industrial base and destroy most of Irans current stockpile of ballistic missiles . Now 8000+ targets hit, means both objectives were met.

The fact is that bamboo scafolding has been used safetly in Hong Kong for many years. There are no known incidents attribute fire causation solely to bamboo's fire performance. There could be many other reasons to replace bamboo with steel as scafolding, strength, availability of material, consistent material strength, etc., but it is certainly not because of its fire performance properties. It also needs to be balanced against bamboo's natural advantage either, being light weight, easy to handle, cheap, flexible, etc. With hundred of deaths, the investigation should be to focus on what had exactly caused it. The non-compliant flammable netting is one, the lack of fire detection or response is one, the lack of training or awareness from workers to fire risk is also one, the lack of enforcement or quality check of non-compliant material is also one. As we all said, you put steel scafolding on the same building, and the result will still be the same with other conditions remain intact. If none of those contributing events were fixed, and we all switched to steel scafolding thinking this will solve everything, then we could end up hurting more families in the future.
