I agree, I really like Starfield. My favorite Bethesda games are FO3, Vegas, and then Starfield. But yes, there’s no denying Bethesda fumbled the ball. However, the latest ‘Free Lanes’ update dramatically improved space travel for me. There’s a ton of content now, but it’s too little too late for most gamers.

Unfortunately I don't trust any PR statement that comes out for any studio under the Microsoft umbrella anymore. More layoffs are to come over the next 12 months. Microsoft could just come along and close the studio during that time. Two other things to keep in mind as well. 1. ID Software has lost a lot of institutional knowledge now and that will impact the output and quality of their games going forward. 2. I expect the morale to be soul crushingly low, devs aren't going to work at their best after a huge amount of their friends and colleagues were shown the door. I could easily imagine a scenario where a number of the remaining devs are secretly applying elsewhere cause they don't want to work for Microsoft anymore.

Starfield was worked on since 2015. Fallout 76 was made by a B tier small studio that were given a year and a half to make it. Only thing they worked on since 2015 until 2025 was Starfield. It's only in this year they announced they move all their focus on TES6. Knowing Bethesda? It'll come out in 2029-2032.

BGS has done nothing worthwhile in over 10+ years. Starfield was a galactic flop to the point MS told them to dump it and focus on stuff that actually makes money. Everything else that is credited to Bethesda is PUBLISHED by them, not made by them. They say TES6 is 2-3 years away but realistically knowing Bethesda? It's closer to 4-5 years because releasing it in the same patended "Bethesda Quality" is going to get them shut down. MS has finally decided to tug on the leash they have on this company because it's not making them as much money as it should and the Oblivion Remake has shown that they don't need Bethesda to make games that sell anymore. BGS is one step away from being thrown to the curb and for MS to just turn all their franchizes into Remake Central until they find a studio for the IPs who can actually make a game that functions on release and doesn't take over 10 years to make.

Capping the supply of Bitcoin at 21M doesn't make sense. Beacuse over time, keys will be lost. In fact, as time goes to infinity, all keys will be lost. I strongly support a clear monetary policy with an absolute upper bound on the # of Bitcoins in the future. Say, fix a max issuance rate and you get that (a good choice is 4% a year, this is a reasonable upper bound on human population expansion). This way, you ensure there's enough to go around. And I'm not even talking about the security problem, looming large on the horizon.
