@Silent_Node

I run a node. I hold my keys. That’s enough.

@NHpilled Its the nodes with the most users. Most bip110 nodes only have 1 user. Some Core nodes have millions of users. Get the users and maybe the miners will listen

Question for anti BIP-110ers, who controls the Bitcoin network? Which mechanism in the network controls the rules such as 21 million, block reward amounts etc.? If it is the miners, BTC is trouble. If it's the nodes, what % of nodes need to signal for a viable UASF in your view?

Luke discovered Bitcoin in 2010. @LukeDashjr was at New Year's Eve Party on an IRC chatroom. The price was just $0.30 ‼️

@Smeagolfan1 Mechanic has also openly said that is fine as well and he would proudly store those transactions in his mempool

OCEAN is providing a good risk management strategy and obeying the wishes of their users. There was always going to be a chain split unless 110 got a swift, convincing majority. OCEAN is dealing with that reality in a responsible way.

@ToneVays @BitMEX_Jon @ocean_mining Seems like the best path towards minimal havoc, IMO.

80% of node runners still don't run Core v30. Yet the minority who do run it are "riding roughshod" over everyone else -- enabling spammers to use the P2P network to harm all node runners.
Stephan Livera@stephanlivera

@EnjoyingBitcoin Why should 15% of nodes (RDTS) get to ride roughshod over the 85%? wickedsmartbitcoin.com/node_count As for decentralization and consensus changes, I'm not gonna write out everything here, but I think this is a reasonable framework github.com/bitcoin-cap/bc…

@flaming_hodl Nodes with 1 user and no hash don't matter. Just free storage for the nodes that do matter

@OGBTC So will Ocean be expanding to support other shitcoins like Litecoin and Ethereum now?

My gut is telling me to side with the people who say decentralization (your node) matters. It’s as simple as that. If you don’t like decentralization there are plenty of forks and shitcoins out there for you. #Bitcoin #BIP110 #Core30

I don’t agree with a lot of things I’ve seen @LukeDashjr say, but when it comes to Bitcoin, I trust him more than most anyone else in the space. It’s not just his exemplary track record of Bitcon development, it’s something in my gut. I don’t know exactly what it is, but for some reason I genuinely trust the guy. Same for @GrassFedBitcoin. Maybe it’s something about the Tenth Man, maybe it’s something about the Remnant. Maybe I’ll be proven wrong, but in my life I’ve generally been a good gauge of people and their character.

Nodes are the network. A majority of nodes forces compliance on the hash power. If they do not comply they will have orphaned blocks, propagation issues and will succumb to the majority of nodes. Don’t let them fool you. Nodes matter. Join us #BIP110Summer

@BitcoinJed1 There's this thing called Tor. Ever heard of it? And why do you assume they would have a lengthy prison sentence? Do you assume the people that do this live within the boundaries of the law? A state actor could do it and I doubt we bomb them over CSAM

@Silent_Node Incentivized is a strong word considering a lengthy prison sentence and that label will follow them the rest of their life. I’m saying that enemies of Bitcoin can use this new attack surface to put illegal data of any kind in contagious data on chain and create issues.

I'm pretty sure BIP110 activiation is going to be a max pain scenario for all: It intially fails to get majority miner support and appears to be dead on arrival but still moves forward with getting a few blocks mined. It looks like it failed. Most people sell their BIP-110 coins when they eventually get listed on small exchanges. Months later someone actually puts illegal content in a block on the legacy chain or there is some other major issue b/c of SPAM on the chain. Hashpower switches immediately to BIP-110 and everyone then realizes holding legacy Bitcoin is doomed and it goes effectively to zero as we get closer to BIP-110 wiping out the legacy chain.
