A bachelor in medicine and surgery is now 635k/yr. That’s about 3.8M over the full course. You haven’t factored in food, rent, clothes as well as academic amenities which is usually almost the same as fees. Meaning you’d need almost 8 million for your child to become a doctor.

People don't seem to realize this but nurses are the ones who run hospitals. When nurses are on strike, the hospital wards actually get crippled. Interesting times ahead and not in a good way. Its sad how many poor people will lose their lives unnecessarily as government and healthcare professionals fight.

At times l sit down and ask myself why l did nursing. Its been frustrating looking for jobs gere and there but nobody is willing to open their door for you. BScNs are really suffering out here.

To all Interns I have contacted one of the directors @MOH_Kenya He has confirmed a payroll system malfunction due to migration from IPPD to UHR. The money received was only basic salary. Allowances are on the way coming as the IT team works to restore normalcy Sherehe iendelee 😄

Once posted, they exerience salary delays for even up to 6 mnths whereas their intern counterparts are paid in 2 months. After internship they are never employed and left to toil on their own. I feel you brethrens. I feel you! #PayNurseInterns @NgalulaDonald @NCKenya @MOH_Kenya

Sometimes, I feel like BScNs are the most disadvantaged group in the medical field. They have to wait like a year and half after graduation for them to get posted for internship. Meanwhile, they counterparts from Kmtc receive their licenses and start working immediately...

@NgalulaDonald @TrevorOmbija Some of the degree nurses have depression since no one can speak out for them simply because the government more so counties have chosen diploma over degree...... This is so unfortunate and heart breaking

@TrevorOmbija kindly ask HE Gov.Muthomi on these: 1. We have witnessed discrimination against employment degree nurses by counties, in much favor of diploma and certificate nurses. Is the CoG addressing this? #mondayreport
